Seems like junk but what do I know?

    • +1

      Never underestimate yourself!

  • +10

25 mins to cook a pizza seems a long time.

    • +2

Not long, by Austpost speed standards. By their standards you’ll be lucky if the pizza comes out cooked and still look like a pizza when done.

      • +1

Guess you haven’t tried Sendle then

        • They are planning to be get in junk appliances trade too? /s

        • or fastway couriers

    • +1

1350 Watts of power for fast heating,

      Yep, clearly not that fast.

      • The MasterPro is 1200W and claims to get up to 400°C

  • This may well be good, but,
Our oven cooks our 2 home made pizza quite nicely… with garlic bread… all at the same time…

  • +1

Stamps, check; padded envelopes, check; pizza oven….

    • maybe collect a Cartier watch if well behaved! 😎

  • +6

zoomed in… 210C is the highest setting. That's not even high enough for new york style.

this one is a way better buy for $99, i have one and use it all the time, just get some 00 flour and make yourself a slow rise dough https://www.kitchenwarehouse.com.au/MasterPro-Ultimate-Pizza…

    • Thanks mate, so this one does go to 450° like it says?

      • +1

i run mine at 370 so cant vouch for the 450 but at 370 it's quick enough for me. Not quite as good as the pizzas I've had out of an Ooni or Gozney but at the price I cant complain

    • $99 is good for that oven

    • I have one of these and use it regularly- absolute no-brainer at this price if you're even vaguely interested in making your own pizzas. Great bit of kit

      • How does that compare to a normal oven?

        • way better - cooks much faster because of the lower volume

    • Does the MasterPro has temperature gage or just dials from 1 to 5? I was looking for Pizza oven to cook homemade dough pizza and this one looks very good value and compact, would you mind share your experience (what temp you use, how long to bake, do you put baking paper under dough or how you slide pizza in, presumably preheated first). I am currently using stone over hooded BBQ and takes 3-4 min to cook, so not sure if worth it to buy pizza oven. Thanks

      • +2

the dial sets the temp in 100C so 3.7 = 370c for example.Takes a couple of mins to reach that temp.

i have a pizza peel to get the pizza in and out along with the smaller ones it comes with. No baking paper. Pizza is done in maybe 3 or 4 mins tops depending on the toppings. I make a dough with 00 flour, salt, water and yeast and let it slow rise in ziplocks in the fridge the day before cooking.

The main thing when cooking is to coat the base of the dough with flour well and 00 flour is lots better for this purpose as it doesn't burn as much as regular all purpose or bakers flour. Also make sure there isn't too much topping as the cheese and sauce melts and if it runs off the sides because there is too much it makes a mess of the stone and makes it hard to get out. First couple of times were a bit challenging with stuck dough, making holes in the dough with the peel and stuff, but I have the hang of it now.

        • Thank you

        • +3

i make oven pizza with home made dough. (use coles plain flour because i am a poor man)
But i sprinkle semolina on the baking sheet and it stops sticking without burning

          • +1

@gimli: I use a woodfired pizza oven and the semolina is a must in that case

          • +1

@gimli: my local bulk food place sells australian 00 flour (Mulino Tipo 00) for $18 per 12.5kg bag. Which is a LOT of dough! Or the Molisana 00 flour comes up at Coles/woolies on sale a lot too but not as cheap as that.

            • @DJR9000: yeah should give 00 a go.
              Do you make pasta?
Its one of the things i want to try make one day?

              • @gimli: Haven't tried yet. We have chickens so have plenty of eggs usually but they haven't been laying much lately. Sometime soon though

    • just found it even cheaper on ebay from House with AFDYPY15 code (of course you need to use afterpay) or BUY10OFF code. Black one without the window though.

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/274738893411

    • And only $89 if you change to the black colour (red is $99)!

      • red has the window on top though which is handy

    • made a deal for the masterpro to avoid clogging this up!

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/645979

    • +2 to the Masterpro. Stuff with bacon etc dial sits at 4, more vege based drop back to 3ish. Great pizzas in around 6 minutes. Pizza night at our house with 6 people is easy and fun.

  • +1

Unless this gets up to 450oC (which I doubt) there is no advantage of this over a regular oven.

    • Your oven goes up to 450degC?

      • No, that's pizza cooking temp (and to get the bacon crispy). This thing doesn't even get as hot as a normal oven.

        • Wow, I had no idea that's how hot a pizza oven gets.

          • @afoveht: It mimics a woodfired oven, in which case, it'll cook most homemade pizzas in under 2 minutes. And it gives the nice crust you usually see from woodfired.

  • +5

    Landfill.

  • +1

Won't buy a pizza oven without a stone base after using one like the masterpro… Makes such good pizza!

  • +3

    Just use your oven

  • +1

Based on 25mins per pizza, for a larger family it'll be pizza for entre, pizza for main and pizza for dessert.

  • +1

not even good for home uses
