this is how you turn kids into console gamers

  • Seriously.. Why.

It's a new generation. A Pepsi generation. For those who think young.

    • For playing with kids halo

    • +4

Why what? It's just a toy that makes noises

But here’s the fun part: Fisher-Price put in an Easter Egg for all your gaming adults too. Plug in the Konami code (Up, up, down down, left, right, left, right B, A) and it’ll fire off a series of sounds reminiscent to Mario games

      Wow. That changes everything.

I would love to see this with a secret hdmi port and mortal kombat rom. Just to read the news story when a kid finds it

      • Mortal Kombat is notoriously hard to emulate so that would be seriously impressive.

Oh wow i did not know. Time to go digging in the kids toys chest to find this as my daughter loved this thing when we got it for her a year ago

      • Just tried it .. whilst very short, it did bring a smile :) I wish there were more hidden easter eggs in kids toys.

  • Can I play Smash on it

I was actually hoping this could hook up to PC or something. Wanted to play some Guilty Gear with it.

    • Someone oughta mod it into a real controller.

Amazing what toys they create for kids - Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Countin’ Reps Dumbbell - https://www.amazon.com.au/Fisher-Price-GJW57-Laugh-Learn-Dum…

No matter what toy version of anything I get, my kids ways go for the real thing. I would jangle all the toys in front of them and they go for real remotes, controllers and wires 🙄 good price though.

Love that they built in the konami code into this thing! Main reason why I bought it! haha

    • Probably the most valuable thing the kids will learn

    • Not sure why I'm associated. I'm unemployed haha

    "1..2..3..4 up goes your score!.. 5..6..7..8..9..10 - you're great!"
    - My child, every day! Do recommend for them, don't recommend for parents.

    • Also fun fact - description lists the language for the toy as Spanish 🤣 Kids won't know the difference, but - "¡1..2..3..4 sube tu puntaje! .. 5..6..7..8..9..10 - ¡eres genial!"

    • +1

It's sad when I read this in the same tune as the toy… almost as ingrained in my memory as the coffee cup.
