I don't get why these crappy sets from amazon are so popular on ozbargain. You can get them cheaper from ebay or aliexpress.

      • +3

Yeah, OzBargain used to be able bargains, about being tight, going to the source for the best bargains e.g. AliExpress. Now we're just OzAdvertising

      • wow, okay sorry, I just thought its a better price with good reviews and more accessories :( , didn't think i'll manage to offend people.

I think anyone who is disagreeing with the buy from amazon link is getting negged…

    Looks like a Xiaomi clone

    • 100%

    • +6

A China product copying a China product.

      Makes sense

      • Isn’t the joke that any or at least most ‘clones’ originally came out of the same factory anyways.

        • +1

Well its technically a genuine replica.

        • Yep Kamino, 200000 units are ready, with a million more well on the way

    • Which already look kinda like iFixit's stuff

    • +1

Check the Xiaomi listing - they've stolen several Xiaomi images

  • +1

This isnt the electric one is it? Been waiting for a deal on the electric one.

    • Not the electric version

  • +2

What's the quality vs the Xiaomi one?

    • Guessing inferior. Xiaomi is a cut price company, they make quality products at bargain prices, if clones are able to sell a replica at a cheaper price they are cutting corners somewhere, because Xiaomi has already cut every corner to deliver a quality product at a bargain price

      • +1

The Xiaomi ones aren't budget or low quality. They were initially a colab with Wiha, a German tool manufacturer - although they've sinced dropped the Wiha branding and now branded as their own Mi product now.

        • When I said inferior I was referring to these clones, not Xiaomi, I said Xiaomi make quality products. Also, I know they were intially a collaboration with Wiha.

    • I can only vouch for the xiaomi one and they are quite good for the price.

I prefer something from Amazon at the moment, it seems everything I've bought since the start of covid has a 50% chance of showing up later than the estimated time. most items take 2 months to finally show up. Amazon is mostly the next afternoon

    • -4

Amazon is most definitely not next afternoon by any stretch of the imagination.

Best is 3-4 days central sydney and more and more is now drop shipping from China taking 2-3 weeks to deliver even though its stated as being in Australia.

At least the returns process works compared to ali-express so you will get a refund generally no questions asked. Thats the only thing going for it sometimes. You pay an amazon tax but thats the guarantee it'll arrive or your money back.

Don't know why you were negged, I agree with your two first paragraphs, I mean I live in Adelaide City and Amazon has never been next day, it's always been 3-4 days.
I've never had difficulty with making a claim on AliExpress though

        • +1

some people prefer not to accept reality…

      • +1

Amazon is most definitely not next afternoon by any stretch of the imagination

I've had stuff arrive late the next day, quite often within 2 days. Not always, and seems to depends on the product - some stuff has taken 5-7.

  • Got the Xiaomi Precision Screwdriver set.

This looks extremely similar to the original product.
So similar that I actually checked with the set I have.

Quality is pretty good. Had it for 2 years ish
