Adioso occasionally show us price drops that they detect. There are usually multiple sales going on at the same time, and the adioso engine is easier to search dates than the airlines, especially when multi-carrier searches are needed!

      … Keep 'em coming Tom!

Thanks for the bug report. Is it still there? I'm not seeing it but I think I might know why it was happening when you reported it.

As for linking to Jetstar, I have no objection to doing this, and it's what we normally do. I put the link to the Jetstar sale page at the top of the deal details.

The reason for linking to Adioso is that the main point of the post is the deals that Adioso has found by combining flights from different airlines. Yes it's largely due to the Jetstar sale that the price drops have happened, but it's also helped by price drops on AirAsia and other airlines. So it could be argued that it should link to AirAsia or other airlines also.

But as always I'm happy to be guided by comments and upvotes/downvotes.

      • How often does Adioso engine updated? Try to search for flight from Phuket to Melbourne in June 8, it shows Jetstar has a fare for $263, but when I click to book, it brings me to the Jetstar website with almost double the price ($428!!)

      • when clicking on the graph of prices… as you can see using ie 8, not sure if thats an issue.

still occuring, i cant drill down from the graph at all…

I rekon link to the carrier site, and have that you found it by using your site… dont know, guess a mod can clarify, thought you where supposed to link directly to deals as if we start having price search engines on here, >>i<< didnt think that was the point of the site…

I know what you mean, and as I explained, the reason for linking to Adioso was that the best deals weren't just found by Adioso, but only existed because Adioso created them.

So it's really not a case of Adioso hijacking a Jetstar deal, its effectively an Adioso deal in its own right - which is why I identified as a store rep, which I don't do if I'm posting a deal that links to an airline.

I've been told by the OB operators that the point of the site is anyone to post deals that the community will like. If it's a good deal it gets upvoted, if it's bad/misleading/spammy deal, it gets downvoted. Seems reasonable to me.

    • Most things update every 24 hours. We're painfully aware that this isn't frequent enough when sales like this happen and the cheapest fares sell out fast. We're working on ways of making things far more up-to-date an accurate. In the meantime, please accept our apologies and be assured we're doing what we can.
