Is this pwm or 3/4pin argb?

      Single mode RGB.
From that, 4pin PWM. Says 4-pin, clearly a fan plug in the photo, not molex (seen that described as 4 pin, which it is, but only 2 used for a fan).
Also lists an RPM range which suggests it is PWM, not just a 4-pin plug with a missing PWM line.

      • Just tried to connect mine, it's molex and some a male 2 pin connector I've never seen before.
Did anyone else have any luck connecting theirs?

        • 2 pin fans usually use JST-XH connectors. Is what you will find on 3D printers to connect fans for example. Also common in power supplies where the fan is either on or off. Can get adapters to standard 3/4-pin or swap the plug.

Means definitely a different model to the one I was thinking though. Molex/2-pin means just power and ground. Not even an RPM signal.

          • @rhangman: Yeah, I don't think it's jstxh. I've uploaded a picture of it, let me know if you recognise it.

            • @Reggienator: Yeah, looks like a mini 4-pin power connector. Also looks like maybe glued together though, so maybe custom? Guessing they also sell some kind of fan hub that it plugs into? Measure the pitch and you might be able to find something. Pins look like the same used in mini PSU connectors. Probably easier just to swap the connector though.
For a crimping tool for fan plugs, I'd recommend the IWS 2820M. Long wait from China though, same for a pack of plugs+pins.

        • Theres no need for any wierd connectors, i just managed to figure out that if you cut off the wire connected to molex pin 3 on the fans power connector, the rgb starts working.

  • Does this fit on this pc Dell XPS 8940 Desktop?
