I know some people like AMD recently, but Intel ultra 265kf is still a great CPU IMO, especially at this price.

The intel 265K is available for $468.23 in Amazon as well. (Expired)

Thanks @MegaBytePanda, it should qualify for the Intel deal Dying Light: The Beast + Civ VII

Because this price is the higher priced than a godly AMD 7800X3D or almost similarly priced as a 9800X3D. Intel just isn't competitive even now in 2025.

How is it higher or similarly priced? Where did you get the price for those AMD CPUs or did you just pull it out of your a..?

    • -7

The recent AMD 7800X3D deals have all been over $500 in the past few months. For gaming, both CPUs seem to have similar FPS according to some reviewers. For productivity, the Intel 265K looks better than 7800X3D according to userbenchmark.

      • +13

userbenchmark is a useless website. the guy who runs the site has an agenda against AMD

      • +9

Sorry mate, but userbenchmark is not at all accurate. They openly have an intel/nvidia bias. They've even had i3's outperforming i9's in the same generation due to their ridiculous ranking system.

        • ok, never mind userbenchmar. How about cpubenchmark? The 265K still scores higher than the 7800X3D.

          • +6

@bingohah: Best to find benchmarks for the games/applications you use as an individual, as that holds more weight than a combined average score of applications you might not even use.

For example, Intel usually performs better in the Adobe Suite, but I'm not a creative, so this doesn't matter to me. Same for AMD's X3D chips, some games don't see as much benefit from the extra L3 Cache.

Has the 7800x3d ever been below 500?
      edit: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/848924 $428 a year ago

Not saying the X3D parts aren't better, but how on earth do you say they're the same price? They're a LOT more expensive. $750 for the 7800x3d and nearly $900 for the 9800x3d.

Are you actually trying to support this Intel deal in a guerilla/submarine way haha?

  • lol no thanks, a Intel Core i5-13600KF is literally better from 2 years ago

    "great CPU"

    • It is physically bigger than ryzen…

I'd 'upgrade' but requiring a new mothernboard kills it

  • +1

So you need a new motherboard and then a new motherboard

    • my X370 motherboard from 2017 rocking a 5800X3D laughs at you.

  • +3

If it's Amazon US, would it still qualify for this Intel Deal? Dying Light: The Beast + Civ VII

  • who remembers Devils Canyon when Intel was actually good?

  • Damn just bought this a week ago -_-

Combine this CPU with a RTX 5060 8gb that you will have the most trashed/loser combo in the years
