Is it me, or has the arse dropped out of Dan Murphys Members offers? 3-4 years ago there was some great stuff from Dans, now it seems most booze deals involve stacking some combination of cashback/discounts/points/gift cards with their competitors.
Yep, the members card is pretty much solely now to track your purchases and customise advertising directed to you. Now when they ask if I have a Dans card I say 'nup'.
And what I find really annoying is that the best deals for spirits is not the so-called ‘members only offers’ but Online deals available to all. This means you need to check online pricing for Dans while in store to avoid being ripped off.
As you say, the card is simply Woolworths way of tracking your spending with zero benefits to the user. Heck you don’t even get Woolworths Everyday Rewards credits.
Yep noticed that as well. Best deals these days are "online only" deals and will not be advertised in store.
If you're looking for another good value daily drinker, you might still be able to pick up some bottles of Naked Grouse at Aldi. It's nothing terribly exciting, but it's quite a decent blended malt, and they've got it at $46.99 at the moment.
