    Seller in the title please

    • sorry, 2nd deal I posted not very familiar with the format :)

      Fixed now.

    Minimum order of 2

  • If someone has this does it say on jar how long it lasts after opening. 1.1kg jar would take a while for me to use.

    • +3

Should be ok for a while if you keep in fridge

      • Of course refrigerate after opening. Would go off pretty quickly if you left it in the pantry.

Put it in ice cube trays and freeze extras. Then Chuck it in a zip lock bag and defrost as needed.

      • +6

Then throw away your ice cube tray :)

        • Laying some glad wrap first might help, also works to so staining from tomato sauce.

  • Same price as 300g haha

  • The price of ginger is so high, wondering how the packaging company manage this?

    • +1

      imported/low grade

    • I was thinking the same.. ginger is around $45/kg but ginger paste (80% ginger) for $3.60.. how is it possible..

      • +2

Ginger is currently $19/kg at Paddys Market in Sydney

        • I envy you, within 5km of our home only supermarkets.. :(

          • @OZBholic: yeah I am glad Paddys is 5min walk from my place !

    • I believe it is Made in India product.. ginger cost approx $1/Kg..

  • Usually dispatched within 1 to 2 Months

Does this taste like Coles' "Maharajah's Choice Ginger & Garlic Paste", full of ammonia smell?

Or taste like Woolworth's "Katoomba Garlic & Ginger 1kg", minced ginger & garlic taste much more normal?

    • do this with vinegar taste?

    • +2

Shan is the best in terms of quality. I am not allowed to buy Maharaja/Katoomba.

  • +2

dont use these…i find them lacking flavour and full of chemicals..
Coles/Woolies sell fairly price homebrand ginger/garlic and is 100% ginger / garlic sold seperately. Costco Garlic US grown in jar is equally good too.

    • Does it (mother recipe) full of ammonia smell?
and how much is the costco one?

  • I'd prefer frozen ginger imported from Vietnam $12/kg.

  • +2

For those in Sydney, fresh ginger currently sells around $19/kg at Paddys Market. Really good price. At the market I always break off whatever I think I need for the week for a 2 person household and it's like $3

    • Post it as a deal 👍

Usually tend to avoid imported garlic, after I saw an expose on Chinese prisoners peeling garlic for export.

It was bad enough on a humanitarian level, but then you saw their fingernails were broken and bleeding and they were using theirs mouths.

Here's a link to a short Financial Times video about it back in 2018 - https://www.ft.com/video/140c3fa5-a3c1-438b-9601-e92ad0e1b39…
