I need one of these self powered hdd REAL BAD, but I'm not sure this one will work on my laptop without a Y cable. ATM most of these need too much juice from a laptop to run, one port isn't enough. For desktops shouldn't be a problem. +1 for the low low price.
These (even the other 160GB WD) should work with single cable. USB power rating is same on Desktop or Laptop. (I have a custom made portable drive with 2.5inch and works well with toshiba/dell laptops via mini-usb cable)

the device may be any of four makes: Hitatchi, Samsung, Western Digital or Toshiba.
great price, they have free same day postage for a couple more hours. will go in store to see if its there.

Great price for a brand-name drive.
Big price jump up to 160GB drives. Maybe 120's are soon to go end-of-life ?!
