I can't speak for the other Launchkey products, but I would stay away from the Launchkey Mini.

I think it might be fine if you intend to largely use it for it's pads, but the keys are god-awful. Like, complete mush. Although, if you've never used a midi keyboard before, you might not be able to tell the difference, so take it with a grain of salt.

  Yeah I've heard most mini midi keyboards have crappy key beds. The Alesis don't seem to be too bad though. I just want something small to travel with and use at my desk when I couldn't be bothered getting out my Push 2.
