  • Can I connect mack book air on this thing

    • does it have hdmi?

      • Usb-c to hdmi cable/converter needed.

    • I don’t see why not.

    • -2

not sure for mack book air
but should work with Macbook Air (with type-c hub that has HDMI output)

    • +2

I have this monitor and M1 MacBook connected. Can confirm it works fine as long as you have an adapter.

I use this one so I can charge at the same time: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08JM3BVC5/

      • am i blind how do you connect this adaptor? i dont see a usb C port, i see 2 x hdmi ports at back of this monitor?

        • +1

I connect the adapter to the computer and use a regular HDMI cable to connect the adapter to the monitor

        • +2

Looks like the adapter usb c goes to macbook.
The hdmi from adapter connected to monitor via hdmi.

  • +6

    Cheap price.

I have this monitor - screen goes black without fail twice a day.

    • Wait what?

    • +8

      that's a feature u could say

    • Sometimes it might be due to laptop

    • +2

Sounds like your computer has a short.

    • +4

Check the refresh rate. If it has an odd rate, then it can do that. It could also be the HDMI cable itself.

I had a Dell 4k monitor do that for months. Found that the refresh rate was set to something wierd. Changed the refresh rate and it was fixed

      • +1

Agree, had a 144HZ monitor and I guess I got a shitty unit that just couldn't handle that, so I went to 120HZ and all was well, games never reached that many frames on a 3070 anyway.

I think this is why some monitors have 59HZ as a setting for stablity.

    • +12

Because you turn it off twice a day?

      • 🤣 Mystery solved!

  • Don't worry about it

  • +5

27 inch with 1080p - will that be blurry?

    • -5

Nope. There are plenty of TV’s with 1080p (FHD) up to around 40 some inches.

      • +4

And who sits as close to a TV as to a monitor?

        • -2

Good point. But still… nobody ever complains a 1080p is blurry - unless you’re used to 4k.

          • +3

@Dr Fruit: difference between monitor and TV is you don't do lots of text reading at 1m distance from the screen on a TV..
and most people don't sit that close to a TV.

this monitor's text will be much less sharp and pixelated.
If you are only going to use this monitor for watching videos or playing games then won't be as much of an issue

It is not about the blurriness but that the screen and text will be less sharper than a 24 inch @ 1080p

          • +4

@Dr Fruit: youre so wrong. the ppi is what matters. ppi on 27 inch 1080p is atrocious.

    • You'll see the pixels but it's not that bad. Great if you have bad vision as everything is huge.

      • +3

something else to consider is that the fonts will be larger on this screen
which makes some website layout not look as good.

and the text is less sharp and more pixelated..

this is not good for general purpose pc usage including lots of website reading/surfing..

    • +1

go check out one in the store if you can.

I saw one in the store and the text is not as sharp due to it being more pixelated..
it has lower PPI than a 24" 1080p

    • it'll be fine, 75 Hz is good too. Great buy, it's cheap as.

      • I disagree, I reckon 27" 1080p looks rubbish personally

    • +6

subjective and it'll depend on how you use the monitor. personally i wouldn't go any lower than 1440p at this size.

      • +1

Same here. 27" @ 1080p is not particularly sharp, unless you're sitting quite far away

    • I have a 27” monitor that’s 1080p and it’s absolutely fine.

  • +2

Please note this monitor does not have speakers. If you want speakers you need to get the S2721H.

    • +8

Thanks. Now I know H means has speakers and HN means Has No speakers.

    • +2

who actually uses the puny speakers on a monitor anyway?

Wouldn't most people have speakers already.

  • +6

Only recommend if you are VESA mounting this model. Go for the HS or H model for adjustable stand.

    • Thanks for the recommendation , just brought one to match with my same size monitor(but QHD) and now I want a dual mounting stand for them :D

      • *bought

  • +1

I have this. It's decent and good value for money for WFH purposes. Nothing fancy though but decent enough to carry out routine tasks.

  • No longer available?

  • The link is removed? or is it just me..

  • Link now points to an Error page, not sure what has happened…

    Edit: Link is back

  • Not a bad monitor. This is my primary WFH monitor. Can't complain.

  • I have a Dell 2719H which I'm finding to be pretty ordinary, anyone know if there's a difference between that one and this monitor?

  • +3

Ouch, that hurts. I bought a slightly cheaper monitor over this one a week ago. But now this one works out a lot cheaper.

Anyway, if anyone's after a USB-C to HDMI cable, I grabbed this one from K-mart a few days ago. It's the cheapest one around and it works fine:

  • +4

Worth noting the eta is September 28 to October 6, in case anyone is looking for a monitor urgently this may not be the one to get

    • Just got mine delivered today, Sydney.

  • do they sell 24 inch anymore?

    • I believe only on their website.

    • +1

These are hoarders, such selfish people

      • +2

I'd be surprised if it wasn't a local computer shop. It's not like they wouldn't resell them easily in the next few months.

        • I don't think that person would be able to sell them given that it's just 20% off he wouldn't make much profit and even if he made the profit, he would've lost a lot of time and effort for minimum pay. What's your take?

          • +1

@PeeDee: He may be selling on RRP $299. There are still many people who can buy on full price and don't know about online stuff.

            • @DEALS1984: Good perspective. I still wonder how they can see $299 as a good deal. Hope people won't be fooled, as generally you'd be doing your research before going about.

    • +2

I will cause a landslide if his order gets honoured and mine doesn't.

    • how are they going to sell 40 outdated pixelated monitors?

    • n***s just Broden 'ed this deal.. !!

  • Can you rotate this monitor for the vertical view?
Not with the stand but going to VESA mount

    • +1

Pop off the back panel and monitor it on the side and configure vertical display on win10

      • Thank you!

  • Got one for Ma-in-law. Thanks!

  • bummer … out of stock … could have really used one.

    • Same, I was actually going to get 2 for side screens so I have my 2nd tier sports going while my OLED is used on wife approved sport or other media.

  • 27" with just full hd is bad for your eyes

  • do we think Dell will restock this ? or is that it?

  • Reading this on a S2721HN monitor. It's fine.

  • Haven't received my dispatch/ posted notification yet!

  • Cannot find any cheaper monitor deals than this anymore. Rip I shud have bite the bullet and got it

    • +1

The 24 inch versions were going under $100 because of the community. Everyone was buying for WFH in 2020 on Dell's site and got vouchers $10+ vouchers per $100 they spent. Some generous users gave out codes between $10-50 off.

  • Yay just got posted notification from ebay! earlier than expected

    • Me too. I am in Melb. Where are you based? Its saying mine is in MINCHINBURY as of last update.

  • Sydney, and just got mine delivered. Love the monitor!
