I have some of the LB130 and they work really well. Also have local control.

These are coming from UK so not sure what it means when it comes to compliance.

Plus delivery since it's from Amazon UK.

If it is the same model, from the same factory, why would it matter?

  • I have some of the LB130

    How are these different?

    • KL is just a newer design/hardware look: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/165898

        There's also a 2-pack for $28 on the same page: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08Z4KCJZY?th=1

Can't be f'd trying to figure out the difference. Reviews say they explode though - Ozbargain!

The 2-pack is TP link Tapo L530E where as the single pack is Kasa KL130.
I have both in my house and the only difference is the app. Connection is great overall. No sign of explosion so far.

          • @deneb: Curious about the different apps - I assume both would just use some TPlink app?

            • @frogduck: Nope, there are 2 different apps… One for KASA and one for Tapo.

            • @frogduck: One app is called tapo, other is called kasa, just different ecosystem, both apps were made by tplink. I have them linked to home assistant so couldn't care much about the extra app but they're also compatible with google/alexa.

              • @deneb: Ahh ok thanks for the clarification guys!

I see my TPlink Deco is a another separate app (or maybe with Kasa)… and I also have a Tapo camera so I'm going to have fun!

              • @deneb: Because there aren't already enough ecosystems out there, one company has to create several just by itself.

          • @deneb: I have the Tapo, Kasa and Deco aps from TP-Link. I do everything through my Google Hub/Smartthings so once you have schedules set up you rarely need to go into the individual apps. It is not a hassle at all.

        • There's also a 2-pack for $28

          Don't want Tapo.

All my TP-Link smart devices are KASA and work off the KASA app.

          • @jv: What are some smart device routines you have setup?

            • +1

@Jay-rad: I just have my lamps turn on automatically about 30 mins before sunset, so I don't have to ever worry about changing the time between seasons or for daylight savings.
