Free 30/60 Day Trial (Normally 7 Days) @ Shudder (Horror Movie/TV streaming service) (CC Req.)

I was trying to get access to this long-running deal but sadly discovered the code provided was no longer working. A quick google search found a new code which did work. Using this code gets you a free 30 day trial (normally 7 days) at Shudder. You need to to provide credit card details details but suppose you can just put in an old prepaid card if you like. If you subscribe and then try to cancel, they will offer you an extra 30 days so it ends up being a 60 day trial (Thanks to a tip from Ozbargainer Neil!).

Shudder is a horror-themed streaming service, so lots of horror and thriller movies, TV shows and podcasts. They also have a lot of movies and TV shows exclusive to Shudder, including the latest season of "Slasher" which I am a big fan of. The Australian service has less titles then the US version, but you use a VPN to access the US version.

New code TFIL thanks to the duplicate post of DarkSide.

    Genre based streaming services

    This is getting shocking.

"Oh, the horror" would have been better

Not sure I'd trust them yet with cc details after the CBA affair recently.

    • CBA affair? Please elaborate.

      • Lots of CBA users were getting charges from shudder that they hadn't authorised.

        • Use spare cc where online payment blocked

        • +3

Not just CBA but several Australian banks and many on cards that have never even been used before.

The leaks are obviously coming from CC thieves on the Australian side as there is no way Shudder could have access to that information, still, I wouldn't give legit details to them until things are sorted. Their selection is pretty crap anyway.

You can watch a lot of the same low budget Horror films (and other genres) on sites like Tubi for free legally anyway.

          • @Freezies: Even if the leaks were coming from Australia, why would the scammers be using the CC details to buy Shudder subscriptions? They into horror movies?

@Guybrush57: Card testing for validity and response. Shudder is a legit service owned by AMC, but being a smaller American streaming service, why would they immediately care or think something is going on let alone be proactive in it's response to many small charges from Australia? They aren't exactly known for being responsive with their refunds either making them a good testing ground.

Professional card thieves don't just start using random card details they obtain to buy things online like a kid would let alone something so easily traceable.

            • @Guybrush57: I had 2 occasions where Netflix was charged on my card. Got it refunded and also found out that Argentina has some cheap AF Netflix at the time lol.

@Freezies: Thanks for the Tubi tip.

          • @Freezies: Mate thanks for the TUBI link!

Never heard of it before. Had a scroll and a giggle at the trashy looking thumbnails and titles. As a fan of trash this was already enough for me to bookmark. Looking further I can see there is some genuinely interesting stuff here.

            I'll be watching "HouseBound" tonight.

            • @HeDanny: I also recommend “Island Zero” and “Infinity Chamber”.

      Use revolut

  • Any details on how to get the 60 days? Tried the cancel method but didn't show extra 30 days offer, and don't want to hit the final button in case it cancels it.

I signed up for a free month and canceled with 15 days remaining and the charged my credit card after the free month was up. I contacted them and it took about 1 week to get it returned

I love horror movies but was put off by this

Well…. they bring horror to reality….

  • I don’t trust them after seeing all the posts. Netflix and Prime will do it for me. Enough horror movies available there!

As someone who loves horror, I was really disappointed with Shudder. Lots of b-grade stuff even by horror standards. I watched documentary on Tom Savini and one on James Cameron, I believe, started like 4 different movies which were all awful, then canceled my sub. Definitely check out this deal if you can but don't be shocked when you find almost everything in there is garbage.

    • Based on when I had a look at it probably 2 years ago I would agree. From memory they had a few exclusives but a lot of the content was available through Prime or Tubi.

    • Yeah a Reddit post from a year ago for good stuff to watch on there resulted in almost all of it no longer being available…

  • Watch Todd and the Book of Pure Evil. You won't regret it.

    • Is it available on Shudder?

      • Pretty sure it's a Shudder original. I got it off Google Play over VPN. Couldn't get it anywhere else, so if it's on Shudder locally, that would work better.

  • Thanks OP. I signed up and shall give it a go. FYI when i cut and pasted in the code it didn't work, but i pasted the code again and back spaced the last letter of the code and typed the last letter in and it worked. I have noticed this on a few sites, if you let auto fill do its magic , the web site thinks there has been nothing imputed.

  • Would never touch Shudder again after having various charges coming from my CC after 13 months of cancelling.

  • Wow still works got 30 days free
