    Price in title

Who the hell is naming these graphics cards and why are they allowed to?

  • On Promotion - Normal Price $1159.00 - Save $90.00
    Not bad.

  • +8

30% more performamce for 30% more cost. We've come a long way since 2018

  • Gone are the days … i got my 1070 Strix for $725 lol

    • Is that equivalent to this card?

      • +2

        In it's time yea

    • +1

I picked up my 2080 for about $900. Today prices are insane.

    • +3

      That's a lot, I paid 500 for my 1070 SC.

    • I got my 5700 for $479 and softmodded it to 5700XT. Current prices are crazy, I hope the next gen is less ridiculous.

      • Got my 1080ti for 640 back when ebay had good promotions, was used but not very old

      • I sold my 5700XT for $1100+ and bought a 6700XT for a tick over $1000. Not so bad for some. It's not too dissimilar to the housing market in that it's not so bad if you're already in it and not looking to enter it for the first time.

    • +1

seems like a lot, I got an MSI 1070ti for 649 in 2018

    • Yeah, got my ASUS Strix 1070 in 2016 for about $600.
The equivalent RTX 3070 now is like more than twice that price.

  • IIRC the 'core' edition has the same clock speeds as a reference 6700xt.

  • -6

I tried SWIFT codes 309, 12GB and a few combinations and all didn’t work

    Do they accept ETH?

  • A nice but large card. my little itx case is too small for this card :(

  • +1

Can i use this card to mine $OZB?

  • For reference, how much would this card cost at MSRP?

    • $930 AUD according to best buy

    • +6

The real msrp+gst? Or the 'shortage' price? 6700xt is 720aud for a reference model rrp. This is a ref model card.

It's goes top to bottom for xfx:
      Merc - 2x 90mm and 1x 100mm 13 Blade Fans + Aluminum Cast Cover
      Qick - 2x 90mm and 1x 100mm 13 Blade Fans
      Swft - 3x 90mm Fans

      • Merc = Merc + XFX and Radeon LED Logo ! :)

  • +2

XFX RX XT SWFT. Very good.

  • This over the 6700xt Red Devil ?

    • +1

I think the red devil is better but cheapest is 1150 at pc case gear.
I'm so shattered I missed that Klarna deal.

    • Red Devil if you can fit it and it isn't too much more. It has undeniably better cooling but is also 10mm thicker and probably longer.

  • This vs 3060 Ti?

    • +1

This is faster for certain games

  • -3

    Holllllddd

    • +1

      Why

      • +1

        so he can buy it

        • -1

          he?

Anyways I'm not in until under $1k, and even then not convinced

        • :(

  • I can understand Nvidia cards being expensive but why the AMD cards?

    • +3

Can still get high hashrates with these cards for the price.

      • Oh yeah was wondering why AMD cards still super scarce and pricey.

      • Green peace should be protesting about crypto mining being bad for the environment not burning baby prams out side parliament house. Lol

  • -1

Im waiting for a non lhr 3070 or 3080

    • You're going to wait a while. I don't think they're making man/any non-lhr cards any more?

    • +1

second hand market only by now

  • +4

    I'm gonna hold.
Running 4K, and my 2070 is showing its age, but I paid $679 for that in 2018(?) - can't justify these insane prices.

    • +1

Same here, paid $749 for my 1080 in early 2018. Prices have just gone insane and just not worth the price at all.

    • +3

I'm running 4k and my 970 is showing its age. Be happy lol ><

      • Running 1080p and my 970 is crashing daily ( :

    • +1

Same here I'm holding. Bought a 1080ti strix brand new 2.5 years ago for $800. These cards are not worth that many dollars.

  • Got the 6600 xt yesterday and already looking to get rid of it. Waste of $829

    • Anything marketed at 1080P gaming has to have some pretty significant limitations.
6600XT should have been less than half that price for the 1080P category, given 1440P & 2160P (plus ultrawides / multi-screen setups) are becoming more commonplace, that's evident by a downward trend on 1080P in the Steam surveys of late.

    • +2

Good luck finding a 6800 xt for a price that's remotely close

    • +2

It's August, coming on September, take a hint.

    • +2

6800 xt ref was this price and they had like 10 of them

    • -1

lol the downvotes, that will surely show AMD and NVIDIA, stay stupid

  • +7

As a 1080Ti owner it's so difficult to upgrade. Any meaningful upgrade in performance would mean at least a 3070 level card but those are still priced much higher than MSRP.

    • +5

As a fellow 1080Ti owner, I'm not even convinced 3070 is worth upgrading to. I'd be looking 3080 minimum, but then you're selling yourself short on VRAM (especially for higher resolutions / LoD). Perhaps when the AD102 is released (hopefully late next year), we'll see a worthwhile upgrade with copious amounts of VRAM to cope with 4K / 5K Ultrawide etc.

If I can get a 3080Ti for around $1800, I'll most likely pull the trigger (wish one of my American friends could line me up with a 3080Ti FE), but otherwise, I'm expecting to be wringing whatever life I can out of my 1080Ti FE.

      • +2

Exactly. Same thoughts here. I say 3070 at least because it's still relatively affordable. Performance wise a 3080/3080Ti would be a truly worthwhile upgrade. Also for me similarly if a 3080Ti is 1800 I'd likely pull the trigger too.

The 1080Ti is just too good.

I can still comfortably play a lot of the games I like at 4k, mid to high settings, at acceptable fps. I don't play games that require high fps so 40-60 range is acceptable to me. My only reason for upgrading is to be able to play modern triple A titles at consistently above 4k60 at high or maxed out settings.

        • Exactly same thoughts here too. 1080ti strix owner.

    • i went from 1080ti to 6800 xt and its a massive upgrade
if you game at 1440 p that is
im happy to stay on this card for few more years as theres no issued with fps

      • Performance wise I do think the 6800xt is a worthy upgrade. I'm just a bit concerned about game optimisation, lack of ray tracing and DLSS.

        • nah, its more then 50% boost, i went from 144 fps to over 250 in some games ( hence i got 240 hz screen and its glorious )
not interested in RTX so that doesn't faze me

          • @botchie: How much did you pay for the 6800xt? Just want to use it as a benchmark.

            • @xiabonan: got it while ago, $1400, sold my 1080 ti for $700

              • +1

@botchie: If I can get a 6800xt for that price I'll pull the trigger too.

                • @xiabonan: seen them close, $1550-90 recently , hopefully another month and it will be there

  • +1

    Shows $1159

    • Updated to expired

  • Dude, a RX 6600 XT is as fast as a 1080ti and a 3070 is for sure an upgrade over it.. seeing its as fast as a 2080ti :) 6700xt

Does anyone else have this card? I find the fans alot louder than expected. Faulty model or just the design?

    • +1

Have you tried a custom fan curve? What temps do you get when it's running loud?

      • I hadn't really checked the temps, but it was in the 60's when I checked last night playing fortnite. I changed the fan curve, it's quieter but I will have to watch the temps. What is safe to keep it at?

        • +1

Check junction/hotspot. That's the one that fan curve reads and is most important. As long as it's under 95 it's normal (20c is the normal delta over core temp), any higher I'd look into getting a replacement or improving airflow because the card should have a pretty good cooler.

          • @Void: It's a fractal S2 case, airflow is quite good I suppose. Will keep an eye on it. It's just alot louder than any other gpu ive owned.

            • @PlagueistheCheap: Well just at a glance the case doesn't look great for airflow having a solid front panel, have you compared side panel off vs on? Though I would be concerned if previous GPUs didn't have this issue considering this should be a pretty good AIB.

Edit: Unless of course it's just a case of an overaggressive stock fan curve.

              • @Void: I will try it on v off and see if playing with the curve can yield a fair balance. This card is in my daughters PC, I have the same case with an XFX 3070 and its much quieter. Perhaps its just fan curve issues. Ill also crank up the case fans, but I think they were already quite high.
