    • Been working good for me. Android user. Cameras come up for live viewing without issues.

  • Thanks OP

Yup crap, WIFI is piss weak. Have to get WIFI boosters and even then still shit. Wasted $850..

  • I bought 2 x 2 packs for $90 delivered and honestly they are well worth it, the battery life is a bit meh buy apart from that they seem alright. Any chance that new doorbell is coming to Australia the 1080p one? There is a demo unit in harvey norman ect but they just don't have any stock of them and I can't find them any where .cheers

      what a load of shite!

      • +3

I'll have something for you on the 6th just wait.

        • Any deals coming out today?

Was happy with the single unit I purchased and wouldn't mind getting 2 more.

    • +2

Doorbell will be in Oct, get a solar panel for the cam's they'll stay charged

      • +2

will the 6th give us a deal on the solar

      • Maybe the new floodlight as well haha?

  • https://www.ispyconnect.com/camera/swann please report if you can rtsp

    • it works
      rtsp://192.168.x.x/live/h264

      • Worth a buy IMO will work with blue iris then. I'd wack it on my letter box to get licence plates

        • Thanks for the heads up on Blue Iris, seems like a full featured security system. I will never have 64 cameras but running a basic PC with a few cameras shouldn't be an issue I guess?

On a side note, do most other cams on here (e.g xiaomi's cheapies) support rtsp?

Also why do you need to catch license plates?

        • it only works when live view is activated, which you seem to need to do with the app
you'd need to look into it more

          • @Azif: Oh that renders it useless for blue iris then?

  • Bad news…not judging the quality…the offer was only good for YESTERDAY.

    • returning on the 6th, with better deals!

  • +1

    Just received, quick postage.
    Will have to fiddle tonight

    • +1

No shipment email or tracking for me yet 🙄

      • Arrived today for 25 dollars no complaints

    • +1

      Connecting was fairly straight forward,
live view in the app seems to be buggy - seem to only get it to work when cabled - is this a standard setting
      RTSP works

      • Whats the RTSP URL?
        EDIT* saw your post above…

      • My live view is working fine completely wire free, and the dog triggers it and I get a notification, so hoping the cat that eats his lunch also triggers it

    • How did they ship it? Which courier?

I got a tracking number but no courier details to match

      • +3

Mine was sent via direct freight courier

I ordered 6 of them and they arrived today. I'm pretty happy with $22.50 per camera. The main thing I've had to get my head around is they are not intended for live streaming and are intended to record clips only when movement is detected. You CAN live stream to them but it only appears you can do this after motion has trigged them and they go online. If no motion is detected they will remain offline and there is no way to wake them up from the app you will have to go outside and trigger them with motion. I'm guessing this is intentional to save as much battery as possible.

The wifi connection on them isn't too bad, I'm not certain but I have the feeling that when the device detects the movement it saves the clip locally then will upload it to the cloud so it doesn't really matter if the wifi connection is poor because it just means it will take a little longer for the clip to be uploaded.

Basically if live streaming to the cameras is something you are looking for without motion being detected first then I would not recommend these.

However for me personally I'm overall happy with the purchase and have pretty much my entire property covered for $135 and can now decide if I want to fork out thousands for a proper wired setup in the future.

    • I'm able to live stream from the app, as well as from a Google nest hub max and Google home app. It's not the quickest, taking up to 20 seconds to connect and on the occasion not connecting, but so far really surprised by how good they are and the app is decent as well. I only grabbed two units, but may look at a couple more at the next sale.

      • How did you connect it to home, ive had trouble getting the link between google and swann working - says no compatible devices

        • Mine worked straight away and added the two cameras. I recently had issues with xiaomi viomi S9 not being detected when linking Mi home and the next day, it was showing up in Google home and just needed to be added to a room.

      • I added a camera to Google home and it added correctly but it does the same thing as the Swann app where it goes offline if it doesn't detect any movement for a while and can't be live streamed to unless movement wakes it up again.

    • That's weird I can live stream without having to wake them up with motion first. For $25 they're ok, but the night vision and WiFi range is worse than my other cams that cost a fraction of what these retail for. They also take much longer to bring up the live stream than what I'm used to.

    • Are you trying to view the cameras while connected on the same wifi network?
The above comment suggests you can view the cameras live via RTSP link.
Maybe a power saving function is turned on to only allow viewing upon motion detect?

      Just some ideas…

      • I tried looking through all of the settings but can't find anything about only viewing upon motion detect.

        • +1

i can view mine all live

          • @OnlyFans: Maybe it's due to poor wifi connection or something? Or I just got a bad batch or there is a setting I can't find.

I'm trying to suss out cheap solar panel options for these. Seeing solar panels on Aliexpress for $15 a pop.

    • Is it usb-c connection we will need? I'd like to get solar panels too but worried they will look too ugly on the house.

      • The Port in the back is microusb, so ideally the panel might have a USB A port

  • Received the camera and I cannot get the LIVE streaming from the app.
Can anybody please suggest how you managed to get the LIVE streaming working?

    • +1

I restarted it after pairing and it worked

    • Try triggering the camera with motion first and then live stream to it. It's the only way it works for me.

    • Mine worked after pairing, it was a bit choppy when I logged off the wifi from my phone and tested but it still worked. It lags by about 10 seconds though

  • My camera worked for a whole 5 seconds then the picture went all black/dark and you can't see anything now. Anyone had this issue?

    • I would try rebooting the camera

  • Mine seems like a heap of junk. Only detected motion/recorded anything on 1 of 5 tests when I walked directly in front of the camera. Live view works sometimes. It seems like the camera just randomly hangs. Clearly not fit for purpose.
Not sure whether it's worth the hassle of sending it back or just put it up as a dummy cam.

    • There are settings for motion detection levels, did you trying playing with those? The "sleep" option could be what's making you think it's crap. It means if it detects movement it won't detect it again for the time selected. If you want it to detect as often as possible you need to select "Minimum" in the options of the specific camera.

      • Thanks for the tip. I had a bit of a play with it and it helped a bit. I'm still finding it a bit hit and miss though, and the battery life seems very poor. Maybe I just received a dud - although based on some other comments, maybe I should be happy that I received anything at all!

        • Battery life isnt great, especially if you're viewing the camera live.
As indoor cameras they are great. The solar panel tests I've conducted is also good. About $20 shipped for the solar.
I am going to test some panels I purchased for $10 and see how that goes.

  • Anyone know how to set it to record more than 10 seconds

  • Today is the 6th……….I'm ready

  • Ready too. What time party start? Cheers

    • Dunno, just told by @Dealzguyz: to turn up on the 6th.

      • Thx

  • Very happy with my cameras.
Wakes up every time I open the app, no issues streaming live. I do however have a very good wifi network in my home…

As for the solar panels. This is what im testing.

Was 54% charge in the morning. Now at 85%.

My brother has similar setup with his Eufy 2C camera system and it works well.

Dealzguyz promised deals on the 6th and today is the 6th……….

    • If you are getting that much charge in 1 day, you should be able to buy a panel that's 1/5th the size

  • Solar panels are expensive. Seems no deals from Swann today!?

    • $15 ish isnt too expensive for solar panels. Swann ones are about $50. Other brands are a little more ranging upto $100 each.

I still haven't received my cameras. Ordered it on the 30th August at 11:13AM. When I checked with the live chat, a guy called Raj said they were being dispatched today. No confirmation received today so checked with the swann rep Dealzguy here and he said that they oversold it and now its all out of stock. I'm sure I ordered it very early when the deal went live here. Was looking forward to receiving the cameras but not getting it I suppose. Not a good experience.

    • I ordered at 11.07am and cancelled.

  • +1

Got a cancellation email that due to error in website they cannot fulfill the order.

    • What time did you place the order? A friend of mine placed the order after mine and he received the cameras, but I missed out lol

      • +1

I placed my order at 11.07am. I didn't hear anything from them until I emailed them yesterday. Got a reply today saying the order has been cancelled.

        • +1

Ordered mine 12.30 they arrived Friday. Guess I was lucky

          • @fatty99: What BS. Ordered for my brother at 11.06am.

      • I would complain. This is ridiculous .

  • +1

Rep said come back today for more deals. The deal is you can't buy it anymore. lol…

  • Ordered 11.06am on 30 August

Recently due to unprecedented sales and response from customers, the ordered product was completely sold out. Our website due to unknown error could not update the stocks.

So, unfortunately we have to cancel and refund your order to your mode of payment.

Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

    • -2

      maybe you were too greedy

      • Please explain? Ordered two.

  • so much negativity and terrible reviews

  • Cameras are actually good. With good WIFI signal, it sends notification extremely quick and video quality is also great. Keen to buy more. But deal is over, I think.

    • well they promised it would reappear on the 6th and that is today, but nothing….

Anything similar to the 3 pack for $75? Order was cancelled here unfortunately, website issues etc

  • Lucky I picked up 3 then, was expecting to buy another 3 of they are decent but looks like o more available.

They are decent for keeping an eye on things, but I don't know how secure it is to have camer where a would be thief can just pick it up from its magnetic mount and chuck it. I guess you could say that about any camera to a degree, it just seems weird to me

    • Most robbers dont even look at cameras or know there are cameras. They are too focused on stealing shit…

    • +1

that's why we provide some cloud backup and it's free!

      • Yes I only just realised that when I went and read about it online, 2 days is ok I guess as you'd usually know you were ripped off by then.

  • +1

The worst part is I haven't even received any cancellation email. I have emailed their customer service twice, and now the live chat guy is not responding as well. I've kept all the chat transcripts for the record where I was promised that they were being dispatched, and I would receive tracking number soon. The deal is good but negging due to lack of communication and poor customer service from swann.

    • +1

customer service from swann is extremely poor!!!

    • +1

looks like you might be receiving the cancelation email as other have.
