This seems to be the cheapest upper arm BP monitor that connects to smart phones via Bluetooth.

Thanks C0mbat for the reminder about health fund reimbursement.

Looks like it’s FDA and TGA approved, but that certainly doesn’t guarantee accuracy.

TGA: ARTG ID 277152
FDA: https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/cdrh_docs/pdf16/K160014.pdf

FFS people, get vaccinated, exercise more and stop eating junk food.

Looks like it’s FDA and TGA approved

Its a Chinese company that primarily sells on Amazon.

None of their claims or reviews can be taken seriously.

Happy to search for the TGA approval if you want me to.

So it means that the one sample that they submitted passed.

The issue with Chinese brands is not the certification, they always have walls full of them, its the quality control and subsequent production runs. They will always have near perfect ppap samples, but the production run is another story.

Its fine with wireless earbuds and usb cables. But health care related items?

Hence my full sentence above was:

Looks like it’s FDA and TGA approved, but that certainly doesn’t guarantee accuracy.

If you have issues with the approving authority, please do contact them and suggest ways to improve their process.

        • The same can be said about medicines.

    • Its a Chinese company that primarily sells on Amazon.

Is there some affiliation with Xiaomi?

FYI, some health insurance policies provide a rebate on these devices. You need a referral from a GP through. I got 90% back on mine.

    • Thanks very much for that, just fired off an email to check my eligibility:)

I got one at home, a torture device really

takes a good minute to measure blood pressure, to a point that you are thinking hmmm do I actually want to use it next time, because shit is painful

the devices they have at any GP measures blood pressure about 10 times quicker

    • -1

Probably cost 10 times more too

      • That's the beauty in the health insurance rebate. I got one for $150 and got 90% back.

    • you poor thing, the GPs one is bad enough. I could not imagine worse

  • Not seeing a coupon
