This is my first deal post, go easy on me. Bought one of these earlier this week and thought it was a decent deal

Edit: That went quick! I got one on Monday and it quickly sold out, noticed it appear today and shared here. I'd recommend to those who missed out to keep an eye out, they seem to randomly go on sale at this price based on my experience so far

This really makes me love my WD My Passport Ultra 4TB Portable Hard Drive USB-C that I got for $99 in Feb.

    • +16

This is SSD - not the same?

      • +2

Nevermind then still to early in the morning on a Friday.

Decided to take my lunch break early and only just got a new deal notif… missed out on this by 2 minutes…. congrats to those that scored one…

    • +2

keep an eye on it, I noticed it on Monday and picked one up and it quickly went out of stock. Saw it appear again today briefly so fingers crossed another deal like this comes along in future

  • It's still available for backorder?

Anyone know if these are shuckable? I couldn't find this usb-c model in my search

  • it's on back order, can still order, but i don't think i need this, the RRP is ridiculous, considering a lot of 1TB SSD is around $100 mark

  • Damn…. Missed it. Did someone buy more than 1?

  • -2

This one is still available for $101.65 https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07LGDLPCB?th=1

    • +1

Note: That's not the same one, that's an HDD, not an SSD.

    • Solid state?

    • this is not SSD.

    • Sorry, That looks like a HDD, not SSD
If you ordered you can cancel the order as I did.
Was too quick and wanted to share.

    • Is that one SSD?

  • +3

Great deal, missed, this one goes up to 10Gbps (1GB/s) speed

    • thanks, I was worried I'd get ripped to shreds

  • +15

You don't check Ozbargain for 15 minutes and it ends in tears. Jealous of all the people that manages to score one.

  • +5

$79 @ tgg - low stock online would call stores online not that accurate at times

    • +1

good deal! I think main difference is write speed & no usbc

    • +1

That's slower one only 400mb/sec, one from Amazon gets around 1043 MB /sec, managed to buy two about a month ago but took forever (about 3 weeks) to arrive

      Here is the benchmark

      CrystalDiskMark 8.0.4 x64 [Admin)
      31GIB
      All

      Read (MB/s)
      Write (MB/s)

      • Can you tell us what SSD model is inside?

        • It's STKG1000400

    • Different model, TGG one only has 5Gbps Speed

    • did you find any place with stock for delivery ?

  • +1

Come on Amazon. Restock! Restock! Restock!

    • 😜🀣🀣🀣🀣

      • This ain’t no laughing matter. It’s serious stuff 😜

        • I also waiting than πŸ˜ƒ for restock

    • Still no restock :(

  • Real speed closer to Samsung T7 than T5 ?

    • +1

It's faster than T7, double and in some occasions 4x the speed of T7 at random read write, I've re benched matching the settings of a t7 vs t5 I found in YouTube, benchmark photos below

      https://imgur.com/a/aam9Ijz

happy to test other stuff if you could tell what you need to know

      • Thanks. I will be buying this one in the future (wait for next sale) instead of the Samsung T7.

        • I think it's a price error than sale as seagate has one touch hdd as well, I was concerned that I'd get hdd but received ssd

      • Sequential Speeds are similar to T7.
But it has 2x faster random w/r.

        • Did you managed to get one 😊

  • This made me to think again on my choice to get SN550 + 10 Gbps enclosure for $147 which is on the way :(
    anyway, this is now OOS.

    • I made the same mistake :-(
And it doesn't even work with Mac.
I think I have to reformat it to FAT32.

  • This is my first deal post, go easy on me.

    REEEEEEE against the rules REEEEEEEEE

  • reminds me of that 1tb samsung t5 deal that a lot of people got salty about lmao.

  • Seagate SSD tend to be less reliable based on tests, in saying that though still a solid price for it

  • White is available to ship from the UK for $101 now, tempted but I can't actually think what I'd do with it (I'll hand in my ozbargain membership card for failing to buy first, think later)

    • +1

It's a hard drive not ssd, model Backup Plus Ultra Touch

      • Good thing I didn't buy first and think later then, thanks!

        • Haha, well done πŸ˜‚πŸ‘

    • +1

I think the white one might be HDD not SSD

  • +1

Back in stock! Was able to place an order!

    • And OOS again! :D

  • +2

    Back in stock again

  • +4

    Back again.

  • Can't add to cart?

    • Gone again.

  • +1

    Back in stock again

    • Gone

    • How many was available?

I wonder what is Amazon's plan here?

  • seems like amazon honouring the price. got shipping notification

    • Waiting for mine

      • Got my hands on mine

        • Mine says Wednesday

          • @hurr1cane: Shipped last night and delivered this morning. Seems like they got enough delivery drivers again, it was originally expected on Monday.

            • @annarchon: Me too. It is now sitting in my drawer. Was going to use it to backup photos on my next overseas trip. Could be a while off.
