  • Are they any good? What's the battery like?

    • -7

I think there is a reason why they are cheap. Better wait for Black Friday deals and go for Garmin or Polar.

      • I have the 42mm version, a bit smaller and shorter battery life but so far so good.

      • +2

Garmin have a brand name that you pay for. I have a few garmins and they are ok. I have the gts 2 mini and its been fantastic. Easily matches my chest strap and mio fuse for HR and has spo2. Only negative is it doesn't transmit a standard ble smart hr protocol, but neither do most of the garmins.

    • +3

Been using it for more than a year. Easily 10 days. No complains.

      • Thanks, that's the main priority to me. Hate the nearly daily charging

        • I easily get 20 days after 2 years of non stop use. 30 days when new.

Use it for app notification and heart beat monitoring.

  • +4

Got mine in Mar/2020, does the job as expected, no complaint, battery life is about 14 days and sometimes 20 days.

  • +2

No complaints and battery lasts 20 days
I put a fancy watch face n it looks even better

    GPS is also snappy

  • Do any of these transmit hr to other devices (eg to treadmills or other apps on your phone)? My gts 2 mini doesn't but I have read reviews suggesting some bip models do it.

  • How accurate are these for running gps mode?

    • +1

Not particularly accurate and was a huge issue on launch.

I've had this watch for >2 years now (bought for $185 AUD on geekbuying) and I have really liked it for its style (I really wish I could set a custom AOD though) and good 1.5-2 week battery life but the GPS is terrible. Even just on walking mode with clear skies above the watch will hit dead spots and vibrate constantly to signify GPS Singal Lost/Found, drives me mad.

      • Does it sketch a map of the trail that you've travelled?

        • +1

you can link it to Strava, Google Fit or Pacer

        • +1

Yes it does sketch a map of walks/runs on the watch and shows you when you end the session but to look in any detail you'll need to open the Zepp app (formerly called Amazfit) on your phone

  • Does anyone know if one can fast-forward and rewind music with these? It's amazing how few devices support this simple function. Yet it's a feature that I very much need while listening to audiobooks.

    • +1

      no you can't

    • +1

The music player lists the time and has buttons for volume, previous song, pause and next song. Just tested then and holding down on the previous song or next song doesn't rewind or fast forward music.

Music can't be stored on the watch FYI so its just basically controlling your phone's music app via BT.

      • I thought that would be the case. Thanks for confirming.

  • Has anyone got nfc working in Australia or it just will not work here at all?

    • +1

Doesn't have any NFC features, believe it might work in China with AliPay but can't confirm that

    • It's been over 2 years. The NFC is not going to be enabled for Australia.
