  • I have one of these and, for its size, its really good. Recommend.

    • Agree. Been using one for work for over a year. Had issues with my laptop mic, this has worked flawlessly for me and takes minimal space on my desk.

      • How's the cardioid on these does it do a good job cancelling back ground noise like ones noisey PC fans and background noises in general

  • Is that a serial port on the side?

    • Mini USB. How old is this thing? Even I feel old knowing what it is!

      • MiniUSB was replaced by micro and then usb-c for most uses, but it hung on for a long time in certain segments like peripherals. Apart from standardising cables, there's not much to be gained by using usb-c for something like this.

  • This is an old mic, and this was its standard price in most markets. Here's some samples: https://youtu.be/fq8JKE7K6jU?t=94

The audio quality for the price is below average so it's the portability you've got to be interested in here, but if you're only interested in the cardioid pattern I'd make an argument for lapel mics like the Boya BY-M1, if you can stand the cable.

  • got one of these for teams meetings and use nvidia broadcast for noise removal. sits under my monitor and picks up my voice pretty good.
