Never been a fan of ratchet-type stands. If the ratchet handle gets bumped hard by something it's going to come crashing down quickly.

If anyone buys these, lie a wheel or 2 under the chassis rails for extra safety before you get under the car.

I use 4 stands plus keep the trolley jack loaded. If I get crushed then it’s meant to be!

I have these and once the weight of a car is on them the amount of force required to bump the handle would be enough to move the entire stand out from underneath the car.

    • New ratchet stands come with pins if you're paranoid.

  • The way the Supercheap description is written is confusing. Are they rated to 1000kg each (2000kg for the pair)?

If so this is better value (and include locking pins too) as it says rated to 1500kg each
