Can keep food eg chicken rice warm for hours. Convenient if u dont have access to a microwave eg school/work/road

      • +2

My kids use them for school lunches, keeps whet ever the meal is warm eg rice, pasta, great for if/when they ever get to go back!

good idea, thanks for the heads up

Is that safe to keep food like rice and chicken semi-warm for hours? Could understand if it’s >60 degrees but what temp would these keep food?

        • +3

Best result is when you put freshly cooked hot food and rinse the container with hot boiling water prior to sealing the lid.

I know someone who keeps their weed in it. It's the perfect size and the heat sealing technology also traps odours. Throw in a humidity pouch and it's the perfect storage environment.

That sounds like a lot of work for a stoner

        • +4

You put a bag in a box and put the lid on. Humidity sachets are quite common so you usually end up with them as free samples - just leave one sitting at the bottom if its handy.

          • -5

@Satyrical: See you lost me at humidity sachets

            • +3

@enwar: That'll learn me for being fancy. They are similar to those silica dioxide packs but more futurey - makes any enclosed container an instant humidor

              • -6

@Satyrical: Humidor? Dat dere dem fancy words

    • its a food jar, you can't use it for soup or coffee. it is illegal to use it other then its intended purpose.

      • I thought you could use it for soup? Even the marketing picture in the OPs link shows what looks like minestrone soup in there.

    • Iron soup

personally prefer the 710ml,this 570ml is too small.

    • thia ia 470ml, isnt it?

      • yes, the one with spoon is 470ml.

unfortunately the 700ml version doesn't come with a folding spoon or a place to store the spoon if you already had one.

    • you like to take it big

  • Price match against Bigw sale I see

    • yup, with the bonus of free shipping so i can continue to be lazy and let it come to me. #winning

  • Is this dishwasher friendly?

    • Yes

    • no, it will melt or dissolve. it can't handle the water being splashed on it from your dishwasher. ymmv

      • Actually the previous Thermos vaccum food jar from ALDI had water ingress into the empty space after putting it into the dishwasher. Shaking it you could hear a swish sound even with nothing inside.
