Not true in my experience. Signed up for my mum who was overseas at the time and they needed certified IDs because online verification failed.

@pingualien: On a serious note, I've heard canteens surcharge cards at 20-50c a pop. When most people buy $5 worth of food if not less, that's a 4%-10% surcharge.

has anyone that has not received the email tried calling up to see if they can have the offer applied to their account? you used to able able to get a second card in your own name and pets etc but no longer since new t/c's , new laws came out they now require ID to be verified?

no further credit check. just call up and ask if such an offer is on any of your amex cards. looks like this one is targeted to qantas card holders and if you currently have under 4 supplementary cards so i dont qualify as i have 8 already lol.
Signed up my partner - they called a few days later and I had to provide her Medicare number to verify her identity - but no credit check
