  • Anyone faced an issue with warranty from Banggood

  • Tried to buy this and seeming at the last payment step the price changed to $212, thankfully my banks fraud protection jumped in as I’d already pressed go.

So, demand response pricing from Banggood? It was definitely the good price when I clicked though. Feel a bit bait-and-switched, and I’ve shopped at Banggood for ages.

  • Would an Arduino be complex enough to run a tank? My niece described them as "kind of a one-trick pony"

Sure, there's two motors, you run them back or forwards in combinations to go forward, reverse or turn, easily handleable by an Arduino with either a motor control board or a few transistors and diodes. If you're using some simple sensors like IR or ultrasonic distance sensors or gyro / compass / accelerometer it'll be fine too. The place where you'll hit a wall is processing video or trying to do any non-trivial mapping.

If you're planning on remote controlling it instead of using sensors then you don't even need the Arduino, a receiver and a motor control board would probably be fine. Dunno what you're planning for the main gun though. Could always run some of the receiver outputs into an Arduino to run LEDs and speakers for effects.

No offense to your niece but she has no idea what she's talking about.
