Inb4 people who compare this to devices 3 times the price.

    • +4

It always happens! Those people can go admire the Alldocube iPlay 40H instead.

      • +6

How is this compared to the iPad Pro Plus Deluxe Special Limited Edition?

I need it for emails and light browsing.

edit: full seriousness tho would this run roblox for the kids or am i better off with the alldouche 40?

        • Looking up "SC9863A gaming" on YouTube will give you some results on its performance. I don't think there's any Roblox in there so I can't say for sure. Seems to do alright in others.

    • It's not as good as an iPad!

      • +3

At this price it shouldn't be.

      • -1

Damn son, $120 is outclassed by a $900 tablet? Who woulda funk?

        • +2

I was joking! As per the post I replied to.

          Too subtle??

          • -4

@beebul: Sorry then, If you were going for sarcasm in the future you need to put the /s at the end. Sarcastic speech doesn't translate well in text and it really does look like you're saying that unironically.

            • +5

@dbmitch: I understand, I thought that me replying to this might be a big hint!

"Inb4 people who compare this to devices 3 times the price."

              • +6

@beebul: I thought it was VERY obvious that this was sarcasm

        • I did understand @beebul's message as sarcasm, until I saw your comment @dbmitch.. u ruined a perfectly good sarcasm :P

        • +1

          wooooosh

        • Sarcasm radar on the blink.

    • +6

but has anyone compared this to a device which is 10x the price?
how is this compared to an iPad btw?

      • +9

        10 times cheaper.

    • Ok, how does this compare to other no-name junk tablets?

      • +1

        Pretty good Vs. Panamax.

        • idk man, a Panamax tablet does a better job at taking my headaches away, this tablet gives me them.

    • How is this compare to Lenovo tabs ?

  • +1

How are these speed wise? (Or what would expect for processor/ram)
Looks to be decent value on paper.

Is the OS Stock android or custom?

    • +1

These are a55 cores which are slightly faster than a53 cores, my $40 Huawei y550 phone from 2014 has a53 cores, yet the android market is still saturated with these.

The T610 has a75 cores, almost twice as fast, not sure if legit or not do your own research:

      https://m.banggood.com/Wholesale-Warehouse-Blackview-Tab-9-U…?

      • +1

It's legit. There's others with the T618 and that's about ~10% better than the T610.

  • -1

What is this? Who is it for? The Blackview website shows off a lot of rugged phones and tablets but this doesn't look like it's for that

  • +1

Can you buy cases and screen protectors for these …? Thinking of getting for my son who is 7 for some YouTube, Netflix and Educational apps and some basic games.

    • +1

You can get a multitude of generic brands cases and screen protectors that will fit this size, its probably not going to be a molded hard shell with a millimetre perfect fit but a quick search for 10" tablet cases on ali/fleabay/jeffbezosonline should yield plenty of results.

  • +1

Looks like a decent tab for price despite cutting corners in mic, camera and processor.

    Review: https://youtu.be/TFW8f1yx3w4

  • +3

These are pointless if you're going to be using it mainly for DRM Enabled Content like Netflix as it doesn't support WideVine L1. Unless you're fine with 480p quality.

Better off with a Galaxy Tab S4 and above or Lenovo/Xiaoxin Tab P11.

    https://help.netflix.com/en/node/23939

    • CHUWI HiPad Pro with for about US$256 before discounts has Widevine L1, as well as a Qualcomm CPU. Unfortunately there's literally only 1 left on AliExpress so I can't share.

      • Can that CHUWI get a custom ROM ?

        • +1

With a Qualcomm CPU it's certainly much easier but that's going to require someone to release a custom ROM. I know in the Alldocube lineup someone released a custom ROM for the iPlay 30 and that's using MediaTek. I haven't really seen anything else for others yet unfortunately.

          • @Clear: Thanks for the reply.

            I'll check XDA.

I thought I'd ask, because sometimes they're known by the generic name,
and i don't know that (if they're called CHUWI or BlackView, etc. )

            • +1

@whyisave: Chuwi, Blackview, Teclast and Alldocube ROM's aren't interchangeable with each other. Alldocube are the only ones to release firmware updates official but it's usually bugfixes.

              • @Clear: i suspect they are not interchangeable.
what i meant was, sometimes Chinese brands are known by a different name,
for which the developers have ROMs released for…

    • +1

Galaxy Tab A7 is cheap also. It is very much a budget tablet though, i have it and the screen has slight ghosting for fast motion sports and its buggy with Kayo (sometimes a *^&%# to get to play smooth, but no issue with netflix and other services).

  • How much is the keyboard?

    • +1

US$158.59 with the discounts if you buy the version with the keyboard included.

      • Works out to about 216 AUD, so is this excluding GST?

        • +1

          That was a inc.

          • @Clear: Have you got one this unit? Is this the same as the android system used in phone? How is this compare to Chromebook?

            • +1

@htc: Nah I don't have this. It's the same Android as used on a phone, except Blackview have reskinned it a bit so it's different to how stock Android is but not by a great deal.

If I was looking to do more word processing I'd probably opt for a Chromebook. Typically these tablets are good for web browsing, light gaming, videos etc.

This would be a better buy with a keyboard due to the iPlay20S being a better tablet. The downside is that the keyboard included is not part of a case so it would sit separate.

              • @Clear: Great, do you use a chromebook like lenovo duet?

                • @htc: Nah. I've heard good things about it though.

  • +3

Considering the high-resolution display on this tablet, anyone wanting a shiny new tablet to stream content (Netflix, YouTube…) is in luck.

This tablet not only has a good resolution display but also has a very impressive screen to body ratio, making this a VERY tempting tablet for anyone who doesn't want to spend too much money.

Additionally, the inclusion of 4G LTE + USB-C charging are neat features that usually cost a premium on more expensive devices.

While this brand name is unheard of, this is an excellent tablet for the price and is suited best for streaming video content

    • +6

There's no widevine L1 DRM in this one so Netflix is restricted to 480p.

The CHUWI HiPad Pro is the only Chinese tablet yet to have Widevine L1. Normally I'd share it but it's out of stock.

      • Oh my bad. I didn't know that existed to be honest. I take back what I said haha, this would still be good for YouTube but 480P is pretty sad for today's standards

        • +1

Yeah impacts Netflix and Amazon. YouTube will still be 1080p no problem.

          • @Clear: Could even go higher than 1080P if you used YT Vanced. YouTube compression makes 1080P look a bit bad, but playing in higher than native res significantly improves visual quality

  • How long does it take to ship it from China to Sydney? I ordered a jacket from Aliexpress in early July and am still waiting.

    • Depends on the shipping method the seller uses or what you selected. Sometimes I get them in 2 weeks with something like ePacket, while others are a couple of months.

Your order would say the estimated time. The lockdowns in NSW certainly won't help.

    • I'm in Syd and ordered an item on AliExpress 23/8 and it arrived a few days ago

  • Has anyone got a good way to mount a tablet like this on the wall with power to use as a smart home hub?

    • +1

Thinking the same. I'm thinking best would be to build a frame that you can mount and slide it into. Frame can cover any bezel as well.

    • 3D print a frame.

    • buy a cheap plastic case with no cover. $5 or so.

Use 3M Command Tab/Strip and stick the cheap plastic case onto (preferably concrete) wall.

      Done.

(better than screwing anything to a wall).

I guess biggest issue is hiding the cord, so get a L shaped USB connector.
      These look nice - https://www.borofone.com/product/cables/usb-cables/usb-c/cab…

Or this would be even better in case animal/child/moron pulls cable by accident.
      https://www.lazada.co.th/products/20pins-magnetic-usb-c-adap…

I tried to upvote myself - but Im not allowed -_-

Probably better to buy a google screen thingo tbh.

  • -2

How easy can I get this to run iOS? Willing to take course.

    • No chance. You can go install and iOS style launcher to make it look Apple.

  • Thanks OP, been looking for a cheap tablet to watch Youtube on, got one!

  • +2

I would wait for the Realme Pad announcing tomorrow 9/SEP, compare and decide.

    • +3

shiny1 called it. If we base it on India's RRP of Rs22999 we're looking at ~A$400.

Definitely worth a look to see how it compares to others in its price range and this certainly isn't.

      • There's always one isn't there?

  • +1

I'm just blown away they acknowledge they are the "entry-level tablet king". Usually product pages are just like "this is the best device ever" even if it's totally low tier.

    • +6

It's an unbranded tablet. There's plenty of those exact ones on YouTube showing that the RAM, CPU and storage in the ROM have been faked. You end up with 2GB/16GB, weaker CPU and at the very least a malware ridden ROM potentially.

I'd rather go for an established brand like Blackview.

      • Thanks for pointing that out. OK dodgy. Lucky I am not in the market for one otherwise I would have made the mistake.

Not that I would know Blackview is an established brand though.

  • As per the review:

    Cameras suck
Soc isn't primed for intensive games

Cheap tablet for basic stuff if you ask me. Also it reminds me of the Toshiba tablet big w use to sell which had a detachable keyboard.

    • +3

Yeah I did say budget in the very first line ;)

  • Don't mind getting one and use it exclusively for bathroom visits. I think it should be competent for some quick ozb browsing or youtube. Good for hygienic reasons.

    • +1

Are you taking it out of the shitter to charge it, or using a methane recovery program to power it?

    • GST total is $180+
    • Are you sure? If you have AliExpress set to AUD then you're going to get an inflated price.

      Subtotal: US $143.99
      Shipping: US $0.00
      VAT: US $12.00
      Store Coupons: -US $24.00
      Total: US $131.99
      Promo Code: -US $13.00
      Total: US$118.99

Now if I calculate US$118.99 into AUD using VISA I now get A$161.40.

So anyone who pays with a card in USD that doesn't have currency conversion fees should get that price or very close.

Does this come with a stylus?
I need tablets that come with stylus for my staff

What is the cheapest these can go for?

This is the lowest and decently reviewed one I can find on Amazon

    • Does this come with a stylus? No
I need tablets that come with stylus for my staff. Ok

What is the cheapest these can go for? It's in the heading.

This is the lowest and decently reviewed one I can find on Amazon. Ok.

  • Op amend, you need to add gst. Total is $131.99 in us, which equates to $179 Aussie

    • Did you actually add to promo code from OP?

Even with Ali exchange rate it is $163.18

      • My cart is set to US dollars
All good I didn’t enter code! I’m not buying this btw, as I have so many tablets and about 2 weeks ago I got a Telstra Telstra Enhanced Tab 2 from fb market at $60 (basically Alcatel ). Btw that tablet only has 2gb but works pretty decent for reading pdfs and chrome casting. I reckon this tablet at 4gb ram will be much better

  • On attempting to apply 99SDB13 I get "The order amount(excluding shipping fee) is under the minimum spend of this promo code. Please apply another code."

I'm stuck at $131.99. Is the deal starting at 5pm today, or ending then?

    Thanks!

    • and now, it's working. All good, ordering now.

      Cheers Clear.

  • Thanks OP ordered 1.
Did anyone buy a case for it?

  • Got mine today. Haven't set up yet but super impressed that it comes with a case which I didn't expect. Not a keyboard but a very nice flip case with stand.

    • I bought two.
Since day one, both having problems with charging. The battery only stays at 51% and the other at 73% after overnight charging (more than 12 hours).
It's been a few nights charging without any success. They both even get less charged, only up to 11% and 46%.

yes, I have tried to calibrate the battery from this link:
      https://www.nextpit.com/how-to-calibrate-the-battery-on-your…

Does anyone have any idea, what could be wrong?

      TIA

      • Had to login to echo the issue (very similar)

First couple of recharges were fine (done when battery was low). But yesterday battery went all flat, and when I tried to use the same charger, stuck at 0% for past hour but the charger indicator was incrementing.

tried another charger with no luck.. Will check on the warranty again I suspect.

        • today both tablets went flat, plug the charger and stuck at 0%.
Let us know how you go with the warranty
