[QLD] 6.6kW Solar System with Hybrid Inverter (Battery Compatible) Installed from $4740 @ Queensland Solar and Lighting

34

We are offering $250 off on this system, exclusive to OZBargainers. Just $4740 installed with Premium panels (30 year performance warranty) and Hybrid inverter.

This system includes a true Hybrid inverter, where a battery can be added at a later date if the customer wishes. Batteries at the moment in Queensland have a terrible R.O.I but some people love them because they make them 'feel good' for using power they stored during the day at night time. We will let you know if and when solar batteries become economically viable.

The Solar Panels

The panel we are selling with the System has a full 20-year warranty, as it is the new N-Type solar panel from Jinko - Testing has proven these to be a far more durable type of panel, and that's why they have a full 20-year product warranty. Jinko is one of the largest solar panel manufacturers in the world.

The Inverter

Growatt has been in Australia for over 10 years now, and for a long time has sold batteries and Hrybrid inverters. They have an office and support in Australia.

  • We want to get our calendar sorted, these cleared before we hit the busy Summer period.

  • System installed on a Tin roof, single storey house. Within 100km from Brisbane CBD. We are happy to quote for other houses.

  • These panels are not the common 370W Split-Cell or Half-Cut older technology that is still getting around by the masses cheap. This is a 'shingled 365W N-Type cell' type panel. Please click the link to read more.

  • Panels have a 20-year product warranty, 30-year performance warranty, and the inverter has a 10-year warranty.

Tile roof - extra $100
Double Storey - extra $150

If your house is old (meter box), or has a 3-phase power supply, the roof is different from tile, or tin, further investigation will be needed for the installation.

Not quite what i'd call a deal based on historical prices

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/604792

    • vic has different rebate… and this is hybrid ready inverter.. not sure how it compares to fronius which is considered higher end but is not their hybrid.

      • It's not really great in the grand scheme of things, i have this inverter and it's a budget inverter at the end of the day only compatible with a couple of battery systems. Still it seems to be a quality inverter, just not as well reviewed as a Fronius.

Almost $5k for a 6.6kw solar system is not a deal
Just for reference (yes WA has larger rebates) my solar installation with the same panels and inverter came to $2200…

    • That's in Victoria, where they have thousands of dollars of extra rebates.

    • The price seems fair compared to that last deal as it was only discounted due to VIC offering 2x $1,850 rebates;

"Get a 6.6kW Solar PV System fully installed from $1,999 * upfront (incl. GST) after STC Rebate, Solar Victoria Rebate ($1,850), and Solar Victoria Interest-Free Loan ($1,850)!
Please Note: total cost for Solar PV System without Solar Vic Rebate & Loan is: $5,699 (incl. GST, incl. STC Rebate)."

    • Downvoting based on Vic v QLD is clueless.

      • As above, relative to other Queensland deals it's bad value….

It's not downvoting based on Vic Vs QLD prices.

And it's not just me that sees this.

Agree with Drakesy, for the price you should at least be getting a Fronius inverter (other deals referenced above). Always pays to shop around, especially with solar installation.

Well, then, linking to a vic deal and commenting on the cost as the only part of the post isn't terribly helpful, then, is it?

It feels like you're using OzBargain as an advertising platform with these shitty sales disguised as "bargains"

I would expect Made In Taiwan at least for $5k. Have seen this brand of Inverter and panels advertised by sellers calling themselves 'Mo' for $2290 on Facebook and Gumtree.

  • +6

The panels aren't the best jinko's but their not far off. The inverter itself is a budget one with a limited choice of batteries that isn't mentioned, your stuck with a LG RESU or Growatt battery if you ever did decide to get one.

As for the company, absolutely no terms and conditions on the website. Would love to see what workmanship guarantees you offer if anything?

Biggest red flag is not a CEC installer and you flaunt that on your website? To add to it, the only ABN I can find associated with your business is cancelled?

If your looking for solar, do your research and at least use solarquotes.com.au. This installer might give an alright install but there's a few red flags to take into account.

  • Always nice to see the CEO posting on ozbargain.

Personally I'm waiting for the next fronius plus earmuff bundle deal.

We are offering $250 off on this system

    Make up your mind…

    Off or on ???

I always wonder why so many 'Solar' companies don't publish their ABN details on their website.
