First post, just picked up a ZV-1 for $839.20 which is a pretty decent price. Digidirect is having 20% off on certain items, probably because everyone is in lockdown. Personally I'll be using the camera as a webcam for now and a B cam when lockdown lifts.

any recommendations for a professional camera? I'm thinking to learn photography proper but am a total newbie at this.
If you're a noob you don't need a pro camera. What you want:
* Interchangeable lenses
* A well established system.
* Ability to change settings like shutter speeds, aperture and iso quickly and easily.
A mirrorless camera is good cos it's small. An slr can be a bit bulkier in some cases but this can also give you better ergonomics and access to those settings.
Do you have a budget in mind? There are a lot of 2nd hand cameras on eBay that would be perfectly fine for learning, without a huge investment.
thanks! I'm keeping a lookout for deals like this one around the $800 mark. Read that ZV-1 is more of a vlogging camera which I suppose is not what I should be getting. Sony has some refurbished ones on ebay which I'm looking at too.
Yeah I'd avoid this one. Looks like no interchangeable lens and geared strongly towards video.
