I usually get these at the standard 10% as an effective discount on my lockdown takeout. No issues so far getting my 10% cashback.

  • do the cards have an expiery and can the value expire once the credit is added to your DD account?

    • +6

Don’t know about the latter, but the ones I’ve bought all expire on 31st Dec 2031. Probably a better chance that DoorDash will cease to exist before your credit expires

Once you get the cards, do you just add it to your account and it gets automatically used at checkout?

Or do you have choice to use it/ another payment method?

    • +1

      From my experience, the former.

  • Gee I had a bad time with Doordash last weekend… their software is glitchy and they randomly cancel orders after an hour of waiting. Happened to a friend the following day also. Uber Eats is horribly expensive, but at least it almost always turns up.

    • I would bet they probably didn't have enough drivers or whatever, and 'the glitch' 'accidentally' deleted your order.

If your order gets cancelled, go to online chat and chat to the doordash agent , they will compensate you

I have similar experiences. But DoorDash usually compensates. True that I almost always get my food via uber eats but they turn up frozen as the deliverers drops off others first before mine.

    • I had a similar bad experience. Last weekend I ordered pickup from a nearby restaurant which turned out to be closed. I went to the restaurant around the pickup time of 8pm and found it closed so had to sort out dinner another way. I don't blame DoorDash as it was the restaurant that should have taken their shop offline in DoorDash but still what a waste of time.

Furthermore, strange thing was when I checked the order status it was never received by the restaurant, then at 9pm (which was exactly 1 hour after the pick up time) it somehow got marked as completed. I'm assuming it was the system that automatically marked it as completed a hour later. I was speaking to their customer service around 9pm and they just refunded me the money and compensated me with some credit.

I plan to order from DoorDash again but from another restaurant that I know will definitely be open for pickup…

  • Does anyone who has the dashpass know if the fast food outlets like kfc have free delivery?

    • Dliveroo 90 days DeliverPlus has free deliver from KFC with minimum order of $30

    • I have it - $20 min order still applies to fast food chains

The only difference between doorpass and pay as you go is that you'll break even after 3 orders (PAYG fees are roughly $5 each time vs $13/m on the pass) and each week will come with additional discounts for doorpass members. (this week I have 25% off (up to $15) for burger joints - go figure)

So if you order takeout once a week, the doorpass is definitely worth it in my view.

The 10% discounted giftcard that shopback offers (13% in this deal right now) makes it an even compelling offer to ubereats and others

      • Thanks! I have to order for other people weekly so i think it’ll be the way to go in the long run but for now will try deliveroo plus since it has a free trial

    • Special discounts will come up every now and then even for the fast food chains on top of the free delivery. And that is not including the 13% discount from shopback gift cards.

Worth it in these times imo.

  • What I hate about doordash is it always forgets my google login details, maybe android app updates too often.

Don't know if this stacks but Shop back app has $5 challenge bonus cashback, Less than 100 left, if you register and spend $150 on doordash.
