    Price is $1221.

    • +3

Yep. That's how much leaves the wallet

    • Coffee is $48 for a kg, knock box is $41 from Amazon, so they are effectively valuing the master class at $107

    • I purchased this from GG in June for $1,100. Don’t pay advertised price. I also have a commercial account, but it is always cheaper if you go to a store and ask for a better price.

  • What is
    "third wave specialty coffee"

    • +1

"Stuff you don't buy at a supermarket"

      • I don't disagree but where do you buy your coffee beans?

        • I am not an aficionado - I don't like coffee, but make it for my wife.

I've bought it from Coles, Aldi and a variety of roasters (e.g. https://inglewoodcoffeeroasters.com.au/) when they have a special on ozbargain.

  • I recently bought (last Sunday) a bambino plus from TGG commercial. I’m yet to receive it and auspost’s last update “shipping information approved”. I contacted TGG and they say it’s been shipped but I’m not convinced it is actually shipped. I expected to receive by now. Has any one experienced delay or is it my expectations unrealistic. I claimed Father’s Day bonus with Breville and it arrived 2 days ago

    • +1

Yes, there are delays mine took almost 10 days to arrive (Sydney metro) and I can confirm it works with GGC

  • Do they sell the Oracle Touch at TGGC store anyone able to confirm price please?

    • +1

      Sure, it's $3156

      • +1

Thanks for that, appreciate you checking that. I had one priced at my local for $2950, wanted to see if it was worth looking for TGGC option.

        • I cant see it anywhere on the Breville site but Myers has a 400 dollar promotion listed by Breville on some machines including the Oracle touch, valid till tomorrow. Maybe worth a shot

          https://www.myer.com.au/p/breville-the-oracle-coffe-machine-…

Edit- No looks like a "gift pack", not sure what that means but generally those are worthless

          • @shaidas: Thanks, it's similar to what's posted in this deal but includes 2 cups, 3 months of coffee (2x250g pm) a coffee cannister and the master class, worth purchasing sooner to be eligible for it, spending $2950 on the machine needs to come with incentive.

          • +1

@shaidas: Myer sell Oracle touch for $2599, Appliance on line sell for $2,248 with same promo (by Breville) https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/breville-bes980b…

            • @huntabargain: I was talking about the promo not a particular vendor since this is not visible on TGG. Both Myer and the link you provided are for Oracle, Oracle touch is a lot more pricey

          • @shaidas: That's the Oracle, not the Oracle Touch. I picked up the Oracle Touch today from The Good Guys for $2950 (plus 5% voucher discount) total $2,802.50 which isn't a bad deal, and eligible for the promo.

            • @eggaz: Yes.. I was just trying to help but did not read the whole post so should have deleted my post. I know the Oracle touch is more expensive mate.. if you read two posts ahead you will realise that. Anyways thats a great price for the Oracle touch ..good for you..enjoy it once you get it which should be about 2 years given the current state of Ozpost :-D

              • @shaidas: Appreciate you trying to help I got excited for a second but realised it was the Oracle once I clicked through, wasnt having a dig, was just clarifying. I actually have it, was available for pickup at my local. Trying to dial it all in at the moment with Lazzio beans, any recommendation on beans? I have read various sites saying Aldi Lazzio beans are decent?

                • @eggaz: You have a Ferrari mate , why try 93. Having said that Aldi beans are surprisingly good. But taste is a subjective thing.. since you are in the game you will find out soon :-D. Even if you are not an Espresso drinker, try the shots each time you brew a new bean..only way to know what you love and if you are an Espresso drinker, you picked the right machine, roast your own or buy 100 grams to try out. Enjoy your new purchase.

Don't get too excited about the masterclass, nothing you can't get for free on youtube

    • This is true.

Also, they alway use the double bucket for demo as the single one never works as they say.

If anyone know how to get brewing start between 8-12sec, I’d like to know. I tried my best, but it is always less than 8. The best is 7sec. If grind finer, it doesn’t pour properly. This is with the double bucket. No chance with the single.

So, basically their master class didn’t help much.

      • are you weighing your coffee grind? when i first started out if coffee starts to drip during the pre-infusion (0-8 sec) it means either grind too couse or insufficient coffee in the portafilter. I dont rely on the grind timer as it is very inconsistent. Sometimes you get more, sometimes less for the same setting.

The 54mm double shot basket max weight it can hold from experience is 17g-18g. I dont leave any beans in the grinder and weigh out 17g for every shot. Then from there, adjust your grind settings until you get a shot that starts to flow at 8 sec.

        • Yes I weigh my grind to be 19g. When I tamp it , I’m using the Matow set to match with the Breville scraping/leveling tool, seems not tamping much. But then, manage to get about ~7sec before the brewing starts and much slower pour. So, not getting 30ml in about 30sec pouring. If I make coarse grind, I’m getting less than 7sec and faster pour. I’m happy where I am now, but don’t know what need to be change to improve.

      • I have Breville Barista Express and you can control (manually) the pre-infusion time, rather than the factory set, by simply keep holding the shot button and release it when you want the pump to start at full force. I am not sure if you could do that with this Touch model though.

  • +3

Lol, your paying $1221 for the machine and getting some inexpensive freebies they value RRP @ $196. Gets people excited every time.

  • +1

It looks like Barista Express with touch pad which you can get for half this price!

    • Link please huntabargain.

    • +1

Barista Express lacks the auto milk texturing of the Touch. The Touch is kind of a half way between the Barista Express and the Oracle Touch.

If you want to save money, and you want the auto milk texturing, then consider the Bambino Plus (plus an unpressurised basket). It isn't quite as good as the Touch (in terms of milk texturing), but better than the Express (which lacks auto milk texturing). Bambino Plus + grinder is roughly same cost as the Express.

      • I have Barista Express for around 3 yrs and the extra features in this Barista Touch in my opinion is gimmick. I consider Auto milk frothing is useful for beginner but I prefer manually. Some review say sensor heat for milk heat has its issue and can lead to inconsistent temp. Express has pressure dial which this one lacks (more important to me than gimmick features).
Oracle touch is dual boiler with auto tamp so not comparable to this one other than the touch panel! the 980 model is much better value.
At this price point, Breville dual boiler 920 with separate grinder would be much better option. But hopefully my next one will be real Italian machine.

        • Oracle touch is dual boiler with auto tamp so not comparable to this one

I never said they were the same.

I consider Auto milk frothing is useful for beginner but I prefer manually.

That is certainly a valid opinion. But many would disagree, particularly if they don't want to spend time on manual frothing.

ifonlyiwasyounger Few posts here in the last coupe of weeks selling for $599, you can google the offers.

    • So your'e basically paying $620 for a touch screen

      • No. The Express lacks auto milk texturing and lacks preprogrammed coffee drinks. And the Express lacks the thermojet (i.e. slightly slower to "start up") - although in reality you want to wait 15 minutes after startup to make the coffee anyway, so not a big deal.

  • TGG sent me a reward $20 gift card with any purchase. Min spend $100. Exp 16/9. PM me if you are interested.

I have had this for just over a year now and I love it. I saved a lot on my morning coffee that I would get from macca's and by doing it myself it is more consistent. Just not you need to buy nice fresh beans to get the best taste

    • Coffee from Maccas?…This machine is a big upgrade then!
