@[Deactivated]: What you’re saying is that (with less education and understanding) you believe you can assess health risks more effectively than medical professionals, and are in the position to pick and choose advice.
You have also linked a webpage that you think reinforces your view, but you don’t have the knowledge to realise that it doesn’t…

                        • @Plimsol: I can read the papers and it does greatly reinforce my view. I have Ivermectin on hand, I am taking Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Zinc and a multi. If administered at first positive test there is a massive improvement of outcome. Once these vaccines start waning in efficiency, which will be sometime near December and we see the cases rising sharply I will implement it as a prophylaxis. Too easy.

                      • @[Deactivated]: "I'm a young fit male, there is nearly a zero percent chance I will be hospitalized"

Those around you might die like flies, but hey, you have your ego to protect you from the guilt. Buff as.

          • @Dungeon Master: What on earth are you talking about? Are you a Facebook troll?

          • @Dungeon Master: False claim, disproven https://factcheck.afp.com/http%253A%252F%252Fdoc.afp.com%252… what amazes me is the people taking anti-worming meds for livestock are the same people that are calling everyone else sheep!

            • +3

@2ndeffort: Ah yes the typical NPC livestock worming claim. Its a Nobel Prize winning medicine with over 5 billion doses given worldwide. Listed on the WHO's essential medicines list. Not to mention that African countries that have administered it for parasitic issues have seen basically zero covid in comparison to African countries who haven't.

              • +1

@[Deactivated]: Wrong again, for someone who, I assume tells others to do their research you need to find better youtube videos. A precursor of ivermectin, known as avermectin won its two discoverers the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine, but that award was related to treatment of parasites. It wasn't related to anything like a coronavirus.

            • +2

@2ndeffort: You know Ivermectin is available for humans, right? It started off as being for humans (won the Nobel Peace Prize as well) and yes - as an anti-parasitic but has been found to have anti-viral properties (and anti-inflammatory for that matter) - it's relatively common for drugs to have multiple beneficial properties (e.g. some analgesics are also anti-inflammatory).

That's like calling aspirin a cat painkiller because it's also used for animals.

So are you saying that - as an example - doctors who prescribe Ivermectin and use it to treat people successfully are lying? Faking it?

        • Wow have you really got the inside scoop? I'm very interested.Thank god we have people like you to protect us from this bunch of scientists that we all know are controlled by their reptilian overlords.

        • +3

Wow have you really got the inside scoop? I'm very interested.Thank god we have people like you to protect us from this bunch of scientists that we all know are controlled by their reptilian overlords

      • +2

That's like saying just because you've got a jumper on that no one else can get cold.

Sure you can still get cold with a jumper on, but you'll be a lot better off (less cold) than the people without one.

      • Forget covid, if someone has a normal cold, that does not mean I want to hang around then and POSSIBLY get sick. I thought that was pretty common sense?

      • +1

You literally answered your own question haha

    • +2

      Unvaccinated does not mean infected.

      • +1

        Vaccinated does not mean uninfected.

  • +3

its sydney I should be getting a free hooker with my free beer for getting vaccinated.

  • +1

Nice. Can enjoy it with the tears of people not being allowed in.

  • -7

If they care about people's health, why they give them free alcohol?
Alcohol suppress immune system making people more vulnerable to covid.

    • +7

      Ever heard of drinking responsibly?

      • +5

        Ever heard of an Australian?

      1. "We know the quickest way back to a thriving pub again is through vaccination, we back our doctors and scientists and wanna show our support to all the legends doing their part for the greater community," owner Mitch Crum says.

      2. Nobody fully vaccinated has died from covid in Australia so the alcohol in one free can of beer is not an issue.

      • -5

Unfortunately there are an awful lot of people who've died post jab.

        • +5

How many is 'a lot' compared to 4.55 million deaths from covid?

          • +5

@jv: Some guy died after his second vaccination, got hit by a car.

            • -3

@Daff: Please don't joke about this. My whole family is grieving. Too many people have died. This shit gets real when it hits home.

          • @jv: With*

        • +1

Every person on the planet will die "post jab"

        • +2

That argument so dumb. On average 400+ people die every day in Australia. Of course these people will still die after getting a vaccination.

Does this mean the vaccination is their cause of death? No. Each death is investigated.

I have no words for how incapable of intelligent thought the people who rant on about the "TGA numbers" are.

The TGA also says the vaccine is safe for use. I wish people respected the knowledge and experience of health care professionals.

        • Told you not to spread misinformation. Just because you want to take a risk that’s over 10 millions times more likely to end in death, that’s your call. Not everyone understands percentages or odds. Hence why still so many people die from illnesses that just take a vaccine to eradicate. Many who died post jab had covid already, or died due to unknown conditions that were brought to the surface due to testing their immune system. If those people got covid, they would have died too. If those people got the flu, there’s a chance they would have died.

      • Point two is not correct actually. There have been several deaths from COVID in Australia even after full vaccination, one of which announced in NSW today and another back on the 12th August. I'm not sure of the total.

        • Yep, even after the jab you can still get side effects from covid, just shows how sick those people were that even after the jab covid still killed them through a reduced immune system.

    • +2

Alcohol suppress immune system making people more vulnerable to covid.

It also improves mental health and reduces anxiety which negates the other affects of covid.

      It's all about balance…

      • +1

I tend to lose my balance with too much alcohol

        • +3

          Then you know your limit…

          • @jv: My limit appears to be about 30 degrees (if alcohol affected).

    • +1

Being vaccinated and drunk as a skunk provides far more protection than being unvaccinated and sober as a monk.

  • Do you think you could get a free drink every time you visited these places? I can't imagine they will be taking down details.

    • +1

Depends how good your disguises are, but I'd say they'd allow for 2 times first and second jab

      • I think it would be highly unlikely that they would remember you from a previous visit, or if you had shown evidence of first or second vaccination.
        Open slather.

  • +2

Taking initiative and trying to do something that has a positive net benefit for both the community and your business. That's great but this is the internet and you'll be shut down and ridiculed by the toilet researchers, influencer followers and conspiracy susceptible.

You might get some praise but you'll get a lot of negative push back on your reviews and socials by trolls and fake accounts that are used to push an agenda.

I work with a few businesses trying to claw back their losses after the pandemic and have found that doing promotions like these work best silently, relying on word of mouth rather than online promotion. Hopefully that doesn't happen but it is a risk.

    All the best.

    • I don't think that OP is associated with the venues.
So, word of mouth it is.

      • Ah good point. I thought it was an associated post.

    • +2

      Wow.

Don't you think it's odd that discussion/debate is frowned upon/censored regarding COVID-19 treatments - whereas it's always been natural previously? Scientists/knowledge experts generally debate these sorts of things in order to come up with the best treatments and there's almost always a variety of different approaches - except for now?

Do you really think that if a person is against the COVID-19 vaccines, or if they believe there are viable alternatives, that they're conspirists and the information they provide can only possibly be fake/incorrect? And for that matter that every single bit of information contrary to vaccines or regarding treatment for COVID-19 is wrong? Every single bit without fail. Don't you find that odd?

Don't you find it strange that there are doctors - for example members of the FLCCC who are treating people with multiple drugs, getting wonderful success? And yet, it's really hard to find mention of this in mainstream media - whereas prior to COVID-19 it would have been greeted with huge support by the media. Do you really believe that every single doctor on the planet is pro-vaccine and that this is the only solution?

I don't mind if a person is pro-vaccine or against it. I believe in choice. I believe in freedom of speech. I believe in open discussion rather than outright censorship.

It's cool that you have your own opinion, but it's not cool that you try to put-down others whom you don't know from Adam and you really don't know how much research they've done. I'm not having a go at you, but just don't see why you should attack others for having their own opinions which differ from yours.

      • +2

Opinions and facts are not equivalent but a lot of people don't seem to understand the distinction. People can have an opinion all they want, just like I can tell them they're an idiot for having it. If somebody spouts an opinion and behaves as if it holds the weight of the foremost medical facts then I think it's perfectly reasonable to shut them down because they're spreading dangerous misinformation.

        • The problem is there's a very hefty bias regarding what's deemed as "dangerous misinformation".

Why would, say, Robert Malone - the guy who invented the mRNA vaccine delivery technology be shut down for stating his opinions regarding the vaccines? He's not anti-vax and he's not even anti COVID-19 mRNA vaccines but believes that they're right for certain members of society - and not all.

Why are frontline doctors who have been trying multiple repurposed drugs (not just Ivermectin) to great success being censored when the information they have (which is tried and tested) can help prevent many deaths?

Likewise with Professor Thomas Borody and Emeritus Professor Robert Clancy - these people are experts.

Even the TGA has got in on the act and is now preventing GPs from prescribing Ivermectin. Even if Ivermectin helped save one life - wouldn't that be worth giving it a go? It's a drug with an extremely good safety profile - better than paracetemol.

      • +2

Your points sound valid and in most circumstances they could hold water and can be considered. But these are the exact same arguments that anti vax parents use when deciding to not vax their kids.

        "I've done my own research"
        "Some doctors advise against it"
"Just because it's a different opinion doesn't mean it's wrong"
"People are allowed to have their own opinions"
        And so on..

Just like with children's vaccinations, the fact is that the covid vaccines have been rigorously tested, moreso than most others and have been proven to work without a single doubt.

People who want to pick and choose their own opposing ideas about what is right for them are free to do so at their own risk just like the parents of unvaccinated children do, they just miss out on government benefits.

      • Currently there is no widely agreed upon medications except for the vaccines we have. I just follow the experts. I do care if you try and drink bleach to cure covid though. Don’t spread misinformation.

        • +1

I agree drinking bleach isn't a good idea. I'm not spreading misinformation.

          • +1

@RichardMelbourne: You are comparing potential coincidences with actual science. My mother once took me to a naturopath to help with a health condition. Shortly after taking some pills, my health condition vanished. This isn’t science. The pills did nothing. Because no pills could have fixed it, as it was an infection.

Don’t spread information until it’s been well documented, reviewed and proven. Until then, it’s not validated health advice. Don’t spread misinformation.

Currently the vaccines are the best option out there that has been validated with countless studies and millions of people as evidence. The whole of UK got AZ, use them as your evidence or your sample.

            • @onlinepred: I believe it has. You also don't get to decide for me. Bullying doesn't help.

              • @RichardMelbourne: I’m not deciding anything for you. But you shouldn’t spread misinformation. Literally the cause of people dying. Don’t imply there is any other preventions, as currently there is not, and realistically there won’t be with all the random information of “cures”. Most are scientifically impossible to actually reduce impact on immune system. Anyway. Peace out. Keep the beliefs to yourself as it could impact lives.

      • +1

It's fine that you have personal choices to not take the vaccine, or not to wear mask, or social distance.

But if you get covid (I hope you don't and I'm not wishing this upon you) but if you do get covid and for some awful luck you need medical help, please don't call an ambulance, please don't go to hospital and take up valuable resources like hosptial beds and ventilators from others who do take this virus serious and is trying to the right thing for the community by following the medical advice given.

But hey, why would you call an ambulance if you get covid right? its just a flu and you're probably young and healthy and you can just take deworming tablets.

Please don't be a hypocrite and stick to your beliefs/opinions and don't risk the lives of paramedics, doctors and nurses if you get covid, dont waste their effort when they could be saving people who do take this virus seriously.

        • Who said I don't wear a mask nor social distance? COVID-19 is not the flu - did I say that? I take this virus very seriously.

I also don't appreciate you trying to put words into my mouth in order to try to justify your childish and cowardly attack. I haven't attacked anyone here and don't intend to.
