Can't Get Delivery of Sony 65" X9500h Will It Fit in Car?

I want to buy a Sony 65" x9500h from TGG (10% off deal atm, plus it is also marked down to $2295 before discount), but won't allow delivery to Penrith through website. Have to pick up from Blacktown according to the website. If I ring the store are they more likely to offer delivery? (it is marked as "clearance") I have a 2009 Toyota Yaris hatch or a 2008 Lancer sedan with fold down seats. Would it fit (either in or out of box) in either of those cars, or do I need delivery? Biggest TV we have ever had is a 55" and we got that in our car.

R U in a lockdown area, is that why they won't deliver?

    • no, we are in the area in Penrith that isn't an LAC I want a Moto G30 as well, can get that delivered (they don't have any in stock at Penrith), but not the TV, as that is marked as "clearance"

Look up dimensions and measure… but yaris or lancer + 65" TV = probably not

      OP needs carton dimensions.
Not safe to remove TV from box
      Easily damaged in transit

I don't think it will fit I'm afraid. Maybe look on gumtree for a 'man with a van'

      and insurance

  • It will fit without a box and resting on front headrests.

    Hire a GoGet?

  • Definitely fit in a CJ Lancer but out of the box, just take a few doonas for padding.

  • Its strange you fit a 55" cause from personal experience it only just fit in a Prado.
I am assuming you werent lieing it down, because that is a bad idea.

    • I honestly can't remember as it was prob 2014 lol. I think we got it in the Yaris

    • Dunno about Prado, but managed to transport a 58 inch Panasonic in an Xtrail. Just fit standing up. Xtrail is very boxy though.

also do not transport a telly other than instructed on the box, certainly do not remove it from the box.

I used to get a taxi (wagon or maxi) to transport it on my own when i did not have a car. Try gumtree , airtasker, or even a taxi if TGG is not delivering them.

If anything goes wrong I'd prefer to have paid TGG more. Imagine if it turned up cracked. TGG would blame the taxi - it would be a circus.

  • That's not fitting in a yaris. I bought a 65" a few years back and they recommended to lay it flat. It just fit in a Forester in between the wheel arches.

You could possibly do it angled in the Lancer.

Otherwise, airtasker; goget; or carnextdoor as others have mentioned

  • Strap it to the roof

    it will totally be fine.

Box and instructions say to transport it standing up, not laying down flat.

I feel there will be a follow-up post in a week about a store not giving a refund for a faulty TV.

  • There is zero chance you will get this TV in those two cars.Source : I have the 65" X9000H at home and a VW Golf.

  • know anyone with a tarago? can fit upto 75 inches tv easily.

You can also hire a van/ute from Bunnings.

  • I have purchased items from the Good Guys on ebay before and arranged delivery after woods.

  • What about hiring a ute for a few hours? Any friends/family with a ute?

  • I am sure that in Vietnam they would use their 50cc motor bike….

    • or two, one end each
      .

  • Maxi taxi will do the job

  • It won't fit in Yaris for sure. Last year I bought a 65" TV and it was a tough to fit it in Honda HR-V. So I would suggest to hire someone through Airtasker.

  • Get a van for an hour on Car Next Door

  • I managed to get my 65” x9000 in a Kia Sportage, I had to lay it on its side, but just drove home very slowly, and it turned out fine.

The Kia Sportage doesn’t actually have a very big boot, so you may get lucky with the lancer. You should be able to look up the packaging dimensions on the website, then use a tape measure to see it you can get it in!

  • In the box no chance!

  • I did a 75" Eko from big W laying down out of box in a rav 4. Box wouldn't fit.

  • No chance, nil, nada. Just hire a man with a van or ute from Gumtree. No point destroying your new TV because you're too cheap to pay for a courier.

    • it wasn't a case of being to cheap, through the website it had low stock, it said can only pick up in store. I was able to get onto the store, they had one left in the box and they are able to deliver it. Last night I just didn't know if it was because they won't deliver further than a certain distance from the Blacktown store, because they are in a LGA of concern why it wouldn't do it through the website, but it is all good.

  • If you have a wagon, take it outta the box and lay it on a doona, it'll fit. Then wedge the box in or tie it to the roof.

  • Just airtasker it. Easy.

  • Next time price match with Sony, they currently have free delivery

    • thanks, wanted to get through TGG as I had concierge vouchers and lots of discounted gift cards to use (they put most of them through manually at their end via email), plus I got the gold extras added, not just because of extended warranty, but the perks of concierge….buying discounted gift cards and the 3 x $20 vouchers per year…makes it worth it. I got it through TGG, had to pay delivery, but I have it and set up already. I was lucky it was the last one in stock at Blacktown in the box. Got a phone as well at the same time
