This seems to be the normal price, where is the bargain again ?

    • +2

Please check on our website…we have reduced the price…plus no extra for delivery Australia-Wide. $65 including delivery for a quality handmade knife is a good bargain. Thanks :)

      • +3

It seems to me the price is always reduced when it's in stock and list price when it's out of stock.

There's still an opportunity here though. Instead of "sponsor the children" we can call it "sponsor the traditional craftsmen". Include some pictures of traditional craftsmen creating traditional knifes by traditional crafting process. We can chose to purchase from individual traditional craftsmen and they can make custom inscriptions just for us, the traditional sponsors as per tradition.

How does a man care for this weapon?

    • +3

      Hi,

Firstly it is not categorised as a weapon in Australia :). Its just a humble handmade knife with some pretty looks.

Due to the nature of Damascus steel such knives a bit extra care. Every time you use you dry the knife well and just apply some oily stuff on it that is not toxic. If you are intending to store it long term then you can apply paraffin wax, castor oil or something similar that will not go rancid over time.

      Thanks :)

      • +1

Haha thank you, was kind of kidding calling it a weapon but yknow. Is very aesthetic.

Knew Damascus took a bit more effort so good to know what it takes to look after it from the source.

        Good deal, cheers.

It looks remarkably like this one

    https://skenterprises.trustpass.alibaba.com/product/50035486…

Maybe one of the buyers from the last lot of weekly ads could comment on the sharpness and hardness of the blade.

    • +2

      Hi,

Thanks for sharing your views. Yes there are several such ads/posts available on alibaba and this blade and handle design is quote popular. The price indicated on the link you shared above is firstly for 400 minimum order plus such posts are usually done to attract wholesale buyers. Secondly, our experience is that such prices are advertised only to attract wholesale buyers from overseas. Thirdly, after taken into consideration the shipping, customs duty, GST (at port), packaging and handling, advertisement etc. it is found that profit margins are quite low specially when knives are made from acceptable quality materials.

Our knives are carefully priced to make them affordable and at the same time offering an exceptionally good combination of quality and aesthetics. We verify and test the quality of the materials used in these knives and make sure that it is of acceptable quality inline with the amazingly affordable prices.

      Thanks :)

      • Changing the knife you have linked to, is quite sneaky.

Luckily, the revisions to deals are documented.

What tests do you conduct? Do you have a video of you taking one out of the box and then cutting some cardboard to show the sharpness?

        Are you a dropshipper?

        • Hi,

Please read the description of this listing and more details on the website. All the stock is shipped from Brisbane. We receive these knives as a lot without packaging we pack them locally. We don't do drop shipping. Dropping is not economically viable option due to high shipping costs from overseas specially to rural Australia and also it is difficult to assert a level of adequate quality control in drop shipping.

These box cutting videos are just a marketing stunt. Eventually every knife no matter how good the quality will loose sharpness and every knife will need sharpening again at some stage. These knives come well sharpened, fit and ready to use. We don't compete in knife sharpening competitions.

          Thanks :)

Is the handle on the knife well sealed?

    • +1

Yes the handles are sealed and please note that Pakkawood itself is a fairly water resistant material as compared to natural wood. For maintenance it is recommended that after using the knife just dry the handle and blade thoroughly apply thin coating of non-toxic oily material.

Could this be concealed in a jeans pocket?

    • +5

Yes…but not in the pocket of your jeans trousers. If you have a camping backpack made out of jeans for whatever reasons then yes…you can conceal in it in the pocket of that jeans camping backpack :)

And remember….carrying a knife in public without a reasonable excuse is not allowed in AU.

  • How come the pickup address is a house in QLD?

    • Because NSW and Vic are in lockdown?? Maybe?? I dunno, just having a guess :)
