I have been watching this well reviewed prime lens on C3, looks like Amazon dropped the price, lowest ever now.

  • I have the RF version of this and it is my favourite lens!

    • Yeah it's great. I wish Samyang would make more RF lens as the Canon version pricing is insane.

      • True, we need a 35 and a 50 :D

        • 28-70 f/2. Oh yeah!!!

Thanks OP. Ordered one . Price was $658 when I clicked link & ordered. Now back over $700.

  • Deal seems to have finished, was $658 when I checked and then added to my cart, now $735

  • Never heard of this brand. Are they reputable?

    • Yeah, they used to make a lot of manual and video lenses for DSLR and Mirrorless cameras. In recent past, they started making auto focus lenses which are very good quality in both optical and auto focusing. Viltrox has also started their auto focus lenses for Sony , Nikon , Canon, Fuji mounts.

  • Price is up now, mind you, still better from 900+ was originally offered : )

  • I am still debating between 85mm 1.4 Samyang and 85mm 1.8 Viltrox mark II. I know 1.4 will give you that one extra stop of light but has anyone got any feedback for the Viltrox?

    • Samyang has been making good lens and has earned its reputation. What reasons you would consider Viltrox over Samyang?

If you're on a Sony APSC camera like a a6400 then I can vouch for the Sigma 56mm 1.4 DC DN which has a similar field of view to this on the crop sensor. Probably the sharpest lens I own.

+1 this statement except I owned the 30mm instead of 56mm
