ShoppingSquare Freebie Bargain $0+ $4.95 Delivery Per Item

25

Shopping Square is selling a bunch of stuff for "Free" with 50% off shipping, which effectively means everything there is 4 dollars. (Not really a bargain per se, but I picked up some knives, thought that might be useful).

I wouldn't buy the batteries, if I were you. It's about 50 dollars for 30 AA Duracell batteries. I'm sure there are many better deals out there.

Then again, the same could be said for 90% of the stuff there.

Anyway, don't go crazy adding things to the carts, for the most part only a few items might be worth the 4.xx shipping.

  • i also got the email, free 4gb microsd card, but $7.95 shipping??! rip off! other places like dealdirect only charge $2 for shipping memory cards!
i remember because they had the $10 off voucher a while back and so it only cost like $1.90 for a memory card delivered!

  • they always have heaps of free stuff, just pay (inflated) shipping…

Not really a deal IMO, but its your first.

Ah, yes. Many apologies, I thought the knife set and cordless can opener was worth the 4 dollars, but as I said, the rest isn't really "bargain" stuff per se.

Just added 10x 4-pens into my cart. $0.00 + $43.73 Delivery. Really? No combined shipping for ten 4-pens?

I wonder why? Well the answer to that is pretty obvious. It is routine practice for ShoppingSquare to advertise lower prices products by hiding the cost in the shipping/handling fee. Any regular OzBargainer knows this.

    • 1 4 pen = $7 shipping

Actually, the $43.73 delivery is actually shown as combined shipping. But it doesn't matter what they call it, it doesn't cost $43 to send 10 pens in a parcel.

Even when it's advertised as FREE, in the end you're paying more than the normal price.

I'm negging this firstly for their dishonest business practices and secondly, because there is nothing here thats actually a bargain.

    • why do they bother?

  • an ok way to spend the $6 credit from the previous USB stick deal….
got something useful for under $2

I'd stay well away from those knives… all the customer reviews say they're thin and flimsy. What else would you expect from a knife set with an RRP of $20?

Congratulations ShoppingSquare, you've officially sunk to Catch of the Day level of scumbaggery.

  • THis looks ok for under $5.
