Any plan to add ApplePay and after pay as payment methods?

    • +3

      AfterPay for $40 of coffee??

      • -2

Don't use AfterPay just prefer Apple Pay

But consider currently AfterPay's marketing is pretty aggressive so there are always further discount, some even paying the whole amount upfront would be good deal.

        • +3

Then why ask about afterpay if you don't use it?

Some of the feedback on deals is kind of ridiculous really, OP doesn't appear to be associated in any event - so not like he can tell you about any plans for accepting different payment methods.

  • +3

Thanks OP this is a good deal.

  • +3

What a bust. Can't use this with the credit from referals. Seems that referal credit will just have to sit on my account forever! Pass.

    • That’s a bummer. Oh well

    • Not entirely unseasonable, but a bit unfair in the sense that you went out of your way to get them new customers, so a credit is a credit and should be honoured as part payment regardless of use of publicly available discount codes.

  • Any recommendations for the best coffee to make espresso based lattes?

    • +1

      Darkhorse

    • +1

Dark horse or Crompton Rd (I am biased towards Crompton Rd but DH is quite nice as well)

      • Thanks, have grabbed a kg of Crompton Rd to try.

  • Any dark roast?

  • +14

In case this saves people wasting time checking (and waiting for a slow site like I seem to be…), most coffees look like $52/kg, so 30% off would be $36.40 + $7.70 delivery.

    • I love my coffee. But yeah, whatever way you grind it, that's pricey, even with the 30%.

      • +6

$45 a kilo delivered is not particularly pricey for good coffee.

        • Can't make the leap personally. $45 a kilo. This is ozbargain. I'm not sure this is a bargain IMHO.

          • +2

@seamonkey: Taste is subjective, but there isn't a lot of stuff that's regularly available for under $40 p/kg that I would say I 'love'.

  • +6

Is the site's server under COVID restrictions also where only 1 in 4 users can connect at once?

  • It looks like pick-up from the Victorian location is unavailable

  • Its been a long time since I had 5senses

  • Still over 40, have to give it a pass.

    • +1

I expect to see coffee costs rise in the immediate future and sub $40 a kilo will likely be a challenging pricepoint for quality beans (to the extent that it isn't already).

The incremental cost per cup of this being fractionally over $40 is nothing.

  • +11

IMHO Five Senses are one the best beans out there.

    • +3

Agreed. Comparing this to your everyday $25/kg beans is not a fair comparison (IMO)

    • Yup, I will and do admit it is pricy but I love it so much

    • +1

Not only good coffee, genuinely good people as well!

  • Already have 2kg of beans, wouldn't mind to try it otherwise.

  • Try some of their single origin 250g packs if you're up for trying new things (Gizaw, Dikitu, etc.)
    30% is awesome.
    I like fivesenses.
edit: just thought i'd mention … they roast to order and their delivery times are pretty quick via auspost too.

  • How are these compared to other Ozb favs Manna beans and Arjo?

    • +2

      compared to manna beans:
they don't give you complimentary propaganda.

  • +2

These are pricier than the standard ozb beans but the beans are really top notch plus their customer service is great too including fast shipping. Highly recommend dark horse.

  • +1

If there was one extra sense, I think there'd be a better twist.

  • +2

My coffee supplier of choice. Outside of the current shipping environment, I normally receive my order within two business days of ordering (shipped from Perth to Melb) which ends up being way faster than my locals. Always a good variety of interesting beans outside of their standard blends. Not sure why people complain about the price, it's a fairly standard price for good quality beans and from these guys, more than happy to pay it (even happier when discounted!)

  • +1

Ozbargained? Website appears to be unreachable at the moment.

    • Seems that way.

  • +1

    Great Coffee
    Pricey but worthwhile!

  • Does anyone know whether orders from Perth will be shipped from Perth?

    • Well I think I found out the answer by accident - when I got to the checkout page, my delivery method was changed to "Local Delivery" and the cost was reduced to $4.40.

So I guess it's coming from the local roastery.

got another email from them, saying the deal extended for the entire weekend.

i was expenting more deals today, seems they are the only ones.

  • Bought some beans, thanks

  • +1

This has been extended to run all weekend!
