    Why is there always so many deals lately on jump starters? Are everyone having issues with their car batteries or something? I would have thought this is a niche product that about 2% of the population is interested in.

      Prolonged lockdown, haven't driven my car in weeks besides the occasional grocery shop. Wouldn't be surprised if my battery carked it

      For the first time my dashcam drained my car battery overnight, even though it should have cut off. Will buy one of these now, handy to keep in boot and saves having to call road service.

        You could, and there are other benefits to roadside assistance, but you'd also wait 1hr for a jump and this also lets you lend one to others if they need help in a carpark instead of using jumper leads.

          Ok … but if you ask for a multimeter, it's a fair assumption you want to measure multiple things.

          If you only want to measure volts, there are plenty of goof options, from cig lighter units to battery terminals that display voltage.

          Multimeters are not generally the type of thing that are hideously overpriced in local retail outlets. Jaycar have a good range, but most auto parts stores will have them, as will some hardware stores.

      I have the 2000A and have used it four times over the last two days while my battery was dead. That one works brilliantly, so I imagine the same goes for this version.

    Short trips during lockdown (in my case the groceries and childcare) really wasted the start / stop AGM battery in my car. Friend came to the rescue with a similar powerbank when car wouldn't start (it didn't help that I was washing car with the dashcam activated). However now I have no battery concerns given I have both the Gooloo in the boot of the car and a Ctek trickle charger in the garage (which I use once a week to keep the battery in top shape).

      No, it's 12v not 24v. You could hook two together to get 24v, but I wouldn't recommend it. 24v jump starters are bigger and a lot more expensive. 24v stuff is normally much higher in cranking amps too (the reason it's got a 24v battery).

      Buy a deep cycle car battery charger. This one is only to jump start the car and not a charger.
