It was $299 a couple years ago. I wouldn't pay more than that now.

Damn, I'd love one of these but that price difference makes me want to wait some more

    • was also $239 at the same time

    • Couple of years ago, petrol was also 50 cents cheaper.

And a couple years before that of was 20 cents more expensive.

I used to get 20 lollies when I bought 20 cents of mixed lollies

      ^ this

    • unfortunately I'd imagine that demand for stand mixers has gone up quite a bit with recent events. I'd also guess that once this is all over, price will probably drop quite a lot.

    Actually went lower to $239

This just shows how much price gouging is going on. Is this RRP even legit as per ACL?

    • Yes, if they are regularly sold at RRP

As someone who owns a KitchenAid, these mixers are overrated. They'll last forever, but they do a shit job mixing the bottom and sides of the bowl, they're heavy as (profanity), and the gears that drive the attachment leak grease all the time. Makes sense in a commercial environment where longevity is key, but the usability of these things leaves a lot to be desired. Just look at the ratings of the mixing bowls on the KitchenAid official site. They're all crap, don't attach properly after a few uses, or are a PITA to use (glass bowl).

Any good advice on which stand mixer should i buy for my wife?

      • +1

Give her what she wants. Many a Kenwood one

      • Kenwood is good

      • the kenwood and the breville are pretty highly rated and good value. I have the breville, great beating and whisking. But the kneading has an operating window with a certain hydration of dough and amount of dough. for really wet doughs the slap and fold is the way to go and really dry doughs probably should be hand kneaded.

    • Do you have this model or the 150? I recently purchased a 150 (discounted through kitchenaid, plus $50 cash back from commonwealth back) and haven’t had these issues. I did notice that your comments were expressed in reviews about this model which is why I got the 150.

    • I guess that’s why they have the option for people to buy the beater attachment with the side scraper thing.

There's a screw to set the height of the hook / paddle where the kitchenaid tilts, it's easy to set up

    • Get the scraper attachment?

  • What’s the difference between this and the KSM150?

    • I believe the KSM150 has more watts

classic vs artisan - smaller bowl (also has no handle), smaller motor, less colour options

  • I was waiting so long for a deal like this, I bought another mixer. Damn

  • +1

Lower resale cos it's not red….

Got given one of these a while back. I don't get what's so great about them to be honest.

The white coating on the dough hook and mixer attachments is like a white enamel. The paint eventually started coming off on mine after some use and has rusted since. Not even safe to use with food anymore.

    Old model.

    • Looks like the "new" attachments have the same thing
