  • Thanks bud .. forgot about the cash rewards but a good deal . got one.. thanks

Everytime an orbitkey deal comes up I say the same thing.

Get the active/rubber/polymer tpu one over the leather one. They last much longer and stand up to wear and tear much better.

    • We buy it for the Status symbol not practicality XD

      • +2

but it exists to be practical, essentially turning what is a loose bag of keys getting tangled and lost, into a swiss army knife with guaranteed positions and staying power.

      • Status symbol in a $20 key organizer?

    • +3

I'd say get a knockoff for $3, my random one from aliexpress is still fine after a year. And it was a 2 for 1.

      • mine keeps getting loose

    • but people also reported no issues with leather in that comment.

How do people put car keys on these?

    • +6

You attach it to the loop at the other end.

  • Maybe not the place for this but did anyone end up receiving a free one from the Athena deal? I know the rep said they’d honour those who got an order through - I managed to but haven’t received anything yet. Understandable they may have a large backlog but thought I’d ask.

    • +4

The rep later clarified that all orders made using the generic code would be cancelled and those eligible would be sent unique codes to place their order.

There was no way in hell they were going to hand out 11,000 free Orbitkeys to the public.

Rep said they were gonna honour it. I didn’t receive mine so.. they didn’t honour it, at least not for me.

Was ok with their initial answer.. when they first said they weren’t going to process it since it was an error.

Less ok with it when they said they would honour it but didn’t.

        • I think the rep may be referring to orders placed before the first crash, 6-7 minutes after the deal was posted. I actually managed to place an order after 30 minutes (the system kept dipping in and out), when the deal was winding down and the rep had already addressed the situation, which suggests that many more were able to do the same.

          • @dogsryummy: Ended up getting it. They seem to have sent it out after all. I assume you'll get yours too if you got an order in.

    • +1

didn't receive it even though the rep said they gonna honour those who made it

I use screw posts tightened strongly but leaving space for keys to turn

Which size options are the same/near to the obitkey one? I can make my own custom fabric design orbitkey strap with this screw, cheers!

Oh, the size refers to the length, not the width of the rod, my bad. Looks like ill just need to measure how thick my keys are.

    black got ozbargained

  • Mum says it's my turn to buy the Orbitkey

  • +7

Don't see the appeal. My 3 keys on a simple keyring is compact, flexible, easily and quickly accessible.

Orbitkey is actually adding unnecessary bulk, what used to be slim is a now a block in your pocket, not to mention more hassle to flip the keys out and back. On top of all that, spend nearly $30 for the trouble.

    • but it looks cool, when you whip it out

      • +2

        That's what she said

  • Had the black in cart was choosing cereal then it got removed….

Then for the navy for $33 and as checking out it jumped to $78 dollars

    Lol I give up

  • Wish they had the Multi-Tool for sale.

I had the active/rubber version. Found it good (don’t forget the little washer thing, it’s super important).

I then upgraded to the Qantas black and red leather one for the aesthetic and I still love it. Hasn’t worn out much tbh, only a little on the inside where keys rub back and forth.

Handed down the active to my dad and he’s been very happy with it too.
