Telstra Day: $240 off Apple Watch Series 6 (GPS + Cellular 40mm $509, 44mm $559 Delivered) & More @ Telstra (Telstra ID Req.)

24144

It's that time of the month again: Telstra Day. It's starting Thursday 7 October, and we're leading with $240 off the Apple Watch Series 6 range.

We've also got handset deals ready to launch, but I can't tell you about them until Thursday. I'll add the full list of deals the second I'm able to.

This is the third time we've done this, and folks internally at Telstra love that y'all get on board for a bargain. I've spoken to the team with a few of the questions you keep asking me, and got some answers ahead of the sale in the post itself (https://exchange.telstra.com.au/telstra-day-october-2021/).

Sale kicks off at 1am AEDT (store takes about an hour to roll over this many new deals!) on Thursday morning, and goes all day.

Mod Note: Based on Telstra's Apple Watch Series 6 Product Page

    🥱🛏️

    • Doing the lords work here Scrim.

  • +4

    No iPhone 12 mini.
Too much hype but options reduced. Majority of the deals are just like regular eBay deals.
    Good night

  • +3

    what a waste of time…

    • Hahahahah yea

  • Disappointed, sleep time…

  • +11

"and we're leading with $240 off the Apple Watch Series 6 range"
This is BS. It didn't disclose only some colours and sizes. It didn't say off "a range of Apple Watch Series 6 models". It said "off the range". What a waste of time. Typical Telstra.

    • +3

The 40mm Gold and Space Grey conveniently went out of stock before the deal was live.

  • Red only for 44mm, what an absolute disappointment and waste of time

  • +2

If this deal were a fart, Telstra will have just farted out an almighty shart. Night guys.

  • Wanted blue or space grey 44mm S6 watch.

  • Can't believe I stayed up for this.

The phone deals, the headliners are just terrible.

You can pick up better prices through other platforms.

    Big fizzer 💤💤💤💤

  • Well that was a bit of an anti-climax…

  • Was holding out for a standard iPhone 12 deal or S21.
Bit of a sad sale compared to last month

  • +1

What sort of maniac would wear a red watch?

    • Goes with red shoes…..now the type of people who wear red shoes…..

  • No iPhone 12 Pro in stock. Any colour, any size.

    • +1

128GB in Graphite & Pacific Blue is in stock.

    • +1

Graphite & Pacific Blue 128GB in stock.

  • +2

Ordered successfully, and Telstra got the wrong address, once again :(

  • sad apple watch navy sold out already wtf. Only been an hour

  • -1

I can still see red 40mm was available when people posted only 44mm red available. Not too sure if it is stated based but I am from Perth.
the email says i will receive it in 7 days. Let's wait and see.

  • +2

TL:DR - if you have lots of free time to call telstra Helpline and want to achieve nothing spending 8 to 10 hours of effort. Then yes, order something from Telstra day.

Ordered S21 Plus on the 3rd September from last month's deal spent two hours on the phone over 4 occasions hoping to find out when will the phone be posted to me. Waited 3 weeks then raised a complaint and got no where, was offered to buy at Telstra shop for 50% but none had stock.

On the 25th September, then spent another hour to cancel the whole order.

Successfully cancelled it on 26th September and till today 6th October I have not receive my refund. They still have my money and I'm about to loose another hour to raise a new complain sometime this week when I have the time.

And I just ported out of telstra to optus today after 1.5 years on a 99 per month plan.

    • +1

did they have S21+ on sale too I thought it was just S21?

I got 5 x S21's ordered sept 3 and only 1 arrived so far lol yesterday

      • The Telstra shop indicate ETA on the 256gb model as over two weeks. They have stock to go on the 128gb.
Samsung are winding back their stock now though as they prepare for the s22.
I don’t think Telstra will fill all their 256gb s21 orders to be honest. It’s coming to end of life.
As a result of shortages the s21 second hand market prices are very high.

    • Have to get in early. I'm typing this from my S21 black 256gb purchased from last month's deal. I ordered at 2am. Delivered the following day at midday. Pretty slick if you ask me.

  • +8

Did I miss something here Luke?
    Where is the real bargain??
All I see is Meh,Telstra trying to offload some obsolete iphone 12 and watch that will be heavily discounted in the coming days anyway and this is just free advertising not sure how many OZBs will even bother.
At least last month's deal was decent, this is just disappointing.

    • +2

Yes it is just free advertising as you said. These prices are not even as good as last month.

  • The blue watch was out of stock so soon what a waste of time.

  • IPAD Air-4, same product for $900 at JB
    am I missing something mates?

    • Think it's LTE

  • I wish eveyone who is buying will get their correct delivery address this time.

    • Not for me.

  • +4

Dear Telstra. You have sh*t the bedpan again in your old age, embarrassing yourself as you joined in flipping crap for dollars. So here is a pro tip, 50% off is a sale! I know you think you tried but the fact my money is firmly wedged in my back pocket proves otherwise this time. … … Customer

  • +3

Don't bother to waste your time.

  • +3

All Apple Watch gone, good I’ll just buy the new one coming out

  • #bantelstra

  • +8

Please cancel this Telstray day going forward. What a waste of time! For iPhone 12 Pro 128GB, you are showing the RRP the same as JB charges for 256GB.

  • Blue 40mm Watch back in stock. Used up a bunch of my points to get it for $456. Paying it off over 24 months at no extra cost ($19 a month)

  • Can anyone advise Return Policy for the watches please?

    Thanks

  • Tried to buy a clear case for the iPhone 13 Pro Max and it adds $5.95 delivery. What’s the point?

May as well buy directly from Apple and trial it for 14 days and return if I don’t like it.

  • -3

Hey team, thanks for checking out this month's deals. We'll be back next month with more.

I know a few of you weren't fans of what we had on offer this month, so I wanted to start gathering some info I can send back to the Telstra Day team: what deals do you REALLY want to see? We run these to give you access to great bargains, so I'm genuinely interested to see if I can get some on the schedule for the next couple of months, especially as we come into the Christmas season.

I know there have been some issues, I'll be passing these up to our senior leaders to try and get some movement.

    • +4

I'd like to see more affordable Apple products, older generation iphones, sub $1k, discount on airpods maybe.

    • +6

if you are from Telstra, can you please bring the Delivery Address Issue to the notice of senior stakeholders at Telstra? there are several of us who have suffered due to crappy IT system at Telstra bungling up the delivery address and worst customer service (no clarity of processes, poor training of customer associates, different answers received by different people). Personally, if I have placed an order with Telstra, I don't want a refund I want the order to be delivered without screw up of Delivery Address..don't you agree? Here are few links to refer to find out how much people have suffered:

      • -1

        You got it.

      • +1

I had the worse experience with the telstra day order. After more than a month, I am still waiting for the cancellation of the order and then my refund. Nobody in the customer services can give me a direct answer. I have spent many hours to get my issue solved but no luck so far. I have raised a complaint on 27 September, no luck neither. Different people provided me with a different answers. Nobody actually took the ownership of owning the issue. I cannot escalate my case either. I have run out of ideas for my long standing issue with my address. Good luck with me to get my money back. This is a fiasco. So frustrating 😫

        • Lodge a complaint with TIO and they will fix it asap

    • +6

Maybe just correctly define what the bargain is before you post about it.

"$240 off the Apple Watch Series 6 range" was deceptive.
"$240 off selected models of the Apple Watch Series 6 range" is what should have been posted.

    • +6

If the "senior leaders" at Telstra aren't already aware of the issues people here have raised then they're either burying their heads in the sand or are really shit at their jobs…no offence, but you sound like a PR guy, and people here really don't appreciate or respond well to marketing spin - they just want real bargains backed up by good service. You've disappeared on multiple occasions after posting your deal bombs without backing them up with actual answers to specific questions asked about your deals, so maybe start there if you expect a more favourable response to your posts. And there haven't been "some issues" - downplaying (or flat out ignoring) the serious problems people have had with the address debacle, the technical account issues, the lack of Samsung stock from the last deal, the extremely poor and inconsistent chat support and the refusal to provide timely refunds, to summarise the highlights, just makes you look even more like an advertiser rather than the 'ally' you're posturing yourself as. And are we really supposed to think the "senior leaders" are going to take the PR guy seriously? Telstra doesn't care, none of these issues is new. Spare us your platitudes.

    • Discount on nighthawk would be nice and Xbox accessories specials.

    • I was looking forward to deals on the older iPhones as im keen on purchasing one under $1000 so was disappointed with the offerings for this month.

    • +1

Telstra should be using updated RRP pricing. iPhone 12 Pro price is based on when the phone was launch last year. It is now $1,529 at JB Hifi, which I am pretty sure is probably the same price you can get at Apple store as well if they still have stock.

Apple watch Series 6 price will also probably go down tomorrow in RRP pricing when Apple start taking pre-orders for the Series 7.

The discount shown probably do not reflect updated pricing or potential updated pricing.

    • Amazing deal on ipad pro..

    • +1

Note 20 Ultra, we were all hoping 50% off last month…

How about adding phone plan deals, for example Note 20 Ultra (at half price or less when signing up to 24 month contract, or something along those lines). Include a Genuine cover when signing up for 36 months.

I was hoping to buy outright, so I held off until today. Unfortunately nothing for me, I may sign up else where (Voda and Optus current deals are tempting, also considering the cheapest $45/month deal at Optus includes Optus Sport).

Feel free to PM me with a good deal OP! :)

    • Responding to my question?

    • I'd like to see the Samsung S21 deals from last month repeated please, i.e. Galaxy S21 128GB $624, 256GB $672

  • Its showing me full price ? even I logged in..

  • +6

So much hype for such mediocre deal

    • well said

  • +3

Same issue like last time, when reach at payment "Something went wrong". Looks like Telstra did not learn from last time.

    • Keep trying. Seems their payment gateway got smashed around mid day.

  • Google Pixel Buds 2020 vs Pixel Buds A Series

I was set on getting the A-series buds but thanks to a current sale on Telstra Day, the pixel buds 2020 are only AUD$40 difference for me in addition with some customer points I've built up and can redeem. I have read and watched a few reviews but I am hesitant on getting the older model at this stage even though the features are slightly better….

The main differences from the reviews I've seen so far for me are:

    Pixel Buds 2020
    - gesture volume control (I would like this, main reason I didn't pull the trigger on the A-Series)
    - wireless charging (not a primary advantage but handy as I have pixel 5 so can charge from that if needed).

    A-Series
    - Cheaper but better connectivity (from reviews this is much better than previous version).
    - newer version.

Should I just get the older version and if I have issues hopefully can return and swap for the new ones?

    Anyone with some advice?

    TIA

  • +2

The mediocre savings and difficult purchase/delivery process makes this not a great deal

  • 'Appreciate op for advertising the deal. Please let us know next time you post, whether Telstra have fixed their incompetent IT system not to stuff up people's delivery addresses. Very embarrassing for a big Aust tech company to have a flaky POS system which they don't fix (people complained since the August sale, happened in September, and still happening in October). I never had address issue buying from tiny stores with low budget IT software/systems. Cheers.

  • Maybe i’m lucky - I ordered a 12 Pro 128 at 1:15am. Delivery address showed correctly. Automatically appeared in my AusPost app at 10am and expected delivery is tomorrow.

I also ordered a 40mm watch RED - I went on live chat this morning after the blue ones went back in stock and asked them to change it over and they did it no questions asked. No dispatch email or tracking for that yet though.

Thanks Luke for sharing, hopefully everyone with messed up orders gets them sorted ASAP 🤞

    • Similar experience last month for me with the S21. Ordered 2am. Delivered the next day midday. No issues at all technical or otherwise.

  • +1

lucky for me not wasting so much time waiting for such rubbish deal lol

  • Ordered the watch on the day, received it this afternoon.
Very surprise given all the negative feedbacks provided above.

    • Hi, did you receive the email with the order number after you paid for your Apple Watch online? I've only received an email for the payment receipt without order number and I still can't see any information with my order under my Telstra ID. Chat with Telstra and they can't even find my order… really annoying …

      • Yup I did. Got an email within 5 mins of placing the order, but I can't see the order under my Telstra ID either.
No tracking info/sms, basically arrived the next day without any notification.
I have to say their system is pretty crap, but no complaining since I got my order within 48 hours.
Hopefully you will get yours soon.

  • If you don't need Cellular, Series 7 41mm is $599 and 45mm is $649.

    • mm is just wrist size right nothing else special?

      • +1

        screen size, actually.

        • oh thanks man haha always thought it was wrist size but I guess in a way it does affect as I have small wrists so always go for the 40 or 41 mm. 44or45m looks like I am carrying a loaf of bread on my wrist hahah

          • @AussieMark: Then 41mm version $599 may be a good choice for you.

            • @hawkeye93: Thanks mate by the way was thinking about buying you the other day from Telstra but felt it's a bit too selfish to take you home with me in case you wanted to be free
(Nighthawk modem haha bad joke lol)
