Wait for Dell eBay 20% off

Current monitor died today, need something asap :(

      • +12

        Hehe. ASAP.

      • +1

Estimated delivery time of 30 days

      • +1

Yeah others have alluded to it, but Dell delivery times are appalling.
Their "estimated 30 days" also probably doesn't take into account the Auspost backlog…

        • Fingers crossed

          • +3

@bindtactics12: Possibility of by the time you receive this monitor, there will be another sale with price around $500-$550 again.

            • @edfoo: All those sales are from Dell/Dell ebay anyway, so delivery times would be the same as this deal.

      • How many years have you had it for and what brand?

        • Kogan 27inch. Lol. Lasted 4 years. Tbh, just the power supply is out, but had been eyeing an upgrade for a while. Good enough excuse xD

      • +1

A true Ozbargainer would have at least 3 Xiaomi ultrawide monitors to choose from

  • Has freesync, VA (for better or worse).

  • Seems reasonable. Dell stands and I/O are normally better than other brands as well.

  • It'll be a good day when the curved trend dies out. They give me a headache

get your eyes checked by an optometrist

      • +3

All good aside from curved displays

        • flat 21:9 actually seems like it's curved outwards, a slight 21:9 curve is needed to make it seem flat. Of course when you got the stuff like the g7 that nearly makes a semicircle that's pretty dumb, but a slight 1800r curve is more flat than actual "flat".

          • @HPdeskjet: I got the Xiaomi 34" last year thinking that the curve wouldn't be so pronounced, but I had to return it due to splitting headaches. Went away immediately after going back to any variant of a flat monitor.

@Doy: I use my Xiaomi many hours a day no issue. Might be an FOV thing.

            • +2

@Doy: xiaomi has 1500r curvature which is a bit much. 34 inch with 1800r+ curvature is much better, its also better than flat imo.

I have the curved Xiaomi and I have a 27inch flat… after using the curve, going to the flat 27 feels weird, like the sides of the screen are out of focus

  • +1

I bought this model at 492. Working well, like the wide screen, would be better if it has usb c

    • Did you have any issues with black screen flickering? At anytime after booting your machine ?

      • Yeah it happened a few times. I think the issue is with my hdmi cable, not firmly connect to adpater

  • So 630 isn't a good price?
Has this monitor been on sale cheaper regularly or just the times in jul this year?

    • Would recommend using the student discount if you can. I reckon it’s worth it with that.

  • +1

It has been cheaper, but at this price this is still a good screen. After getting my at $495.20 and using it for a bit, I would of been tempted at this price as well. I have my work laptop on the HDMI and my personal PC on DisplayPort, easy to switch back and forth and also do side by side images.

  • Unfortunately I'm not a student….grrr. Is the student discount via a code or attached to a profile?

    • It’s via a code. Not sure if they validate the email address on order. You can use anyones student email to sign up using the link in the description, and they send the code to that email.

      • Thanks. Any students on here that can hook me up?

    • +1

Ask for a code here and I'm sure one of our fellow ozbargain students will help you out.

  • Unopened U4320Q from local seller… is this good deal?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Brand-NEW-Unopened-Dell-Ultrasha…

    • +3

Shouldn't neg this deal because it doesn't advertise itself for PS5 or XboxX. This is for PC gaming.

    • +2

Vote the deal, not the product.

      • It's still a decent product for the price no?

    • Consoles only output resolutions in 16:9 aspect ratios, and 3440 x 1440p is 21:9. This isn't suitable for consoles in the first place regardless of HDMI revision.

  • Ah just tried my old uni email address and I got a code. I already ordered last night though… Doh

  • Any good 32inch flat screen monitors in the 4k range. More for WFH.

  • +1

Mine arrived after 2 days… Nice

  • Got mine today and it came damaged. top side of screen has blue coloring

    • Damn I better check mine

    • Would be keen to know how you get on with warranty if that's OK. Got butterflies in my stomach now.

      • +1

yes defs, have lodged a note with Dell. Lets see what happens.

        • Great thanks. Good luck. Hope they come good.

          • @misguided_will: So after a few emails here and there - I received a brand new monitor in box this afternoon. Still haven't opened it up as yet though.

Next step is to arrange a return of the faulty screen.

Overall experience has been okay. 8 days from lodgement to resolution given the circumstances is not too bad.

        • Just be sure not to let them send you a refurbished replacement for a DOA item, if they're unwilling to replace with another brand new one I'd be asking for a refund for sure.

          • @itscyanide: How would you know if it's a refurb? Is it common practice

            • +1

@misguided_will: Having never bought a Dell refurb or being sent one as a replacement, I can't speak from experience. But from what I've gathered, the giveaways might be things like a plain brown box instead of the original one, or an original one that's visibly been opened before, or there could be missing cables, scuffs on the unit and so on; it's unlikely to fly under the radar unnoticed.

As for whether it's common practice, it seems like it's happened to quite a few people and I'd imagine the incentives for Dell are such that they'd prefer to cut costs if they can whenever issuing replacements. iirc, in some cases they might refuse replacement with a new item but will issue a refund instead.

I guess main distinction to make when lodging the fault would be to point out that it's actually DOA or faulty out of the box, as opposed to a warranty claim like if the issue came up after a few months of use. If you buy a new item and the thing isn't right, the item they replace it with should likewise be a new item, full stop.

          • +1

@itscyanide: thanks for the info, much appreciated.

      • okay so they logged a ticket for me and the guy said someone would contact within 24-48 hours to arrange a replacement.

    • On sale again today for $549.
I am waiting for the $495 deal again though.

      • $495 was a once off wasn't it? Surprised they are going so cheap when there were supposedly so many affected by supply chain issues

      • Why don't you try and obtain a student voucher and bring the price down to $510?

        • Don't know anyone a student…
