I recently tried to use this, but the way you put into the ear is painful… I cannot stand the pain for just 30 mins traintrip

I completely disagree, which probably goes to show everyone's got different ears haha. I find traditional in-ear headphones hurt and these ones have been a great option for me

      • Anyone who finds in-ears uncomfortable I strongly recommend these, my wife only ever found one comfortable pair of wired earbuds and used them to death. She has tried so many different wireless options that all cause discomfort for her. These are the first that she was happy to retire the old wired buds for.

Instead of going in the ear canal they just kinda rest in your outer ear flaps, it sounds like they'd just fall out but somehow the shape keeps them really stable.

They sound really good too IMO.

Only drawback is the sound canceling is pretty weak so if you need that, can't recommend.

Disagree. These are super comfortable. You're probably not putting it in right.

I've used this line before. Kudos.

    • If you put them into your ear then that's your problem, that's not how they go.

      • I guess all the people said there is no problem must have had hearing aid. While younger people properly not used to these hearing aid design ear buds..

  • Are these low profile enough to be comfortable sleeping on?

    • Yes, been using this for more than 2 months for that purpose. Got around 7hrs, put it around 1030pm and still going on until 530am when I wake up togo to toilet.

Love these, never falls out while running unlike buds gen 1.

  • Normal price on Amazon for grey imports, so no rush for those who are trying to figure out value.

Keep in mind these are true earbuds (open back-like) rather than the TWS IEMs of the rest of Samsung's lineup.

You're making a trade to get better timbre and soundstage for less resolution and bass extension, and usually a little weirder tonality, though I trust Samsung/AKG to do better than most.

They're also not isolating at all due to his they rest in your ear, as they rest on top of the canal, they don't insert and seal. Samsung offer ANC to address this, and by all reports it works really well, but it's still like walking around with open back headphones on.

I personally love what earbuds can do these days given the jump in small driver tech that's being pushed along by IEM and smartphone demand, but the form factor currently has its limits in terms of resolution, especially when it tries to cover for notable bass roll-off (something Samsung tries to address differently with a unique structure and shape).

If you're looking to try out what wired earbuds can do without breaking the budget, I recommend the NiceHCK DIY MX500 (do not order the PK1 versions) for around $10-$13 on AliE, or stepping up to the KSEarphone LBBS, which would probably be cheapest from Taobao.

The diminishing returns hit a lot harder in earbuds due to resonance issues that can arise as you try to up the bass extension.

  • I find these fit okay and as long as I have put them on properly, they don't fall out, but the Bluetooth connection is a bit flakey if you are more than a couple of metres from the source.

I have used them for watching TV and as soon as I am more than 3 metres away from the TV (Sony), dropouts become frequent. In comparison the Trueair 2 headphones I have are quite solid in their connection…. solid for Bluetooth that is!

    • I had issues with these and jbl bluetooth headphones on my sony tv, but have found the connection better with the google tv I use now (my tv's android just got too slow to use).

  • FWIW the buds+ are 125 on ebay atm and 129 on le zon.

  • I find these to be the best fit. Great for a long time was they don't try to make an annoying seal and get all skungy. It's a pity these are the only ones like this
My only issue has been the double tap response.

  • I bought a pair of these and only wore them once as they became uncomfortable after a while. It definitely depends on your ear shape.
