Again correct. Point this out to the echo chamber though and you’ll just get shyt canned.

          • +3

            @Champ888: Interesting.
Been a casual lurker for years but I've never bothered to notice the under-currents at ozb. Thought @PainToad was too personal & rude with comments but still surprised he/she got sin-binned for it, esp given s/he was technically right that this is actually not a bargain and probably does belong in the forums.

            • +1

@quasi: Don't be fooled mate! Go against the grain here and you'll be banned/blocked/binned etc.

I'm still banned for a few more days for having the deplorable hide to point out and -1, validly, questionable "deals" from yonks ago.

              Very insecure and touchy!

Make Ozbargain great again!! Like it used to be…………..

            • @quasi: That user was not banned for anything said in this thread, otherwise the comment(s) would be removed with the relevant reason.

This deal post is for a new item available for a limited time, whether this is a bargain or not is up to the community (not moderators) to decide via voting and comments.

RRP should be in the forum or similar, there is no such guideline. A deal can be good value or of interest without being discounted as such (ALDI, Kmart posts, console deals etc.). On the other hand a deal can be discounted but still be of little interest or poor value.

        • Yep. My friends were always sending me ozbargain posts years ago.

All of a sudden the past couple years they haven't sent me anything.

Recently signed up, now I see there's not much on here besides advertising.

  • +2

I'm a bit unsure as to what's going on in this thread. This is Ozbargain right? Why so much hate on Vegemite? That and cheese go hand in hand, I'm amazed this pizza hasn't come out sooner.

    • +6

I think it’s a healthy discussion on whether is a bargain or not, compared to a pepperoni pizza? Hell no. Compared to a bakers delight cheesymite scroll? Yes

    • Local pizza places have been offering this pizza for years (especially if you have a Johnny Boys around)

  • +3

    Italy Weeps

  • -1

coon cheese and Vegemite- old school

  • +2

    Why/how is this a “deal” ???

    Just free marketing …

    • +1

      Jv… is that you mate?!

      • +2

No bold text, but even I agree this isn’t a deal.

  • Fun fact: Bakers Delight invented the Vegemite Scroll

    https://www.bakersdelight.com.au/products/cheesymite-scroll/

    • +2

Quick, post it as a "bargain".

  • +3

I’d pay $7.95 if it had avocado on it

    • now that's an idea for an add on! will try it.
at $10 it's still not as big a rip off as avo toast in the city

    • smashed avo pizza!

    • I have avo and Vegemite for breakfast, great combo

  • +3

the convenience of kitchen staples (cheese, vegemite and bread) really make this a hard sell for me. i mean who doesnt have this stuff lying around and 5 mins to make it? take you longer to order and pay for it let alone go and pick it up or pay delivery for it lol

that said, i'm a fan of the formula, but it should be no more than like $4-5

    • Best is using a flame torch to melt the cheese…. Make sure extraction fan is on, sends smoke alarm off every time

      • +1

Why not use the grill setting on your oven?

        • 2 min with flame torch much better

  • vegan option?

    • +1

Yes, you can select vegan cheese, I think it costs more though.

    • +1

Makes an already overpriced pizza then cost $10.90. Really not worth it considering that for the same price you could have a traditional range pizza with vegan cheese.

  • +2

Limited time offers can be considered deals to some people. Like this :)

  • can we add vegimite as an ingredient for other pizza? then for $7.95 we can get much more

    • +1

      Looks like no.

    • +1

      I couldn't.

      • yep, just checked and it is not available

    • +4

You could buy a squeeze bottle of Vegemite and add it yourself to any pizza.

      • that's what I also thought, already got a bottle :D

  • Is a shame you can't add ingredients… for some reason it won't let you on this pizza.

  • +1

its the first time they ever put too much of an ingredient on a pizza

  • +1

Yassss - with stuffed cheese crust! I hope I'm not let down.

  • +1

    Expensive

  • +7

Seriously with that on it , it should be in the value $5 range !

  • +3

as taiwanese, i need bubble tea on pizza.

  • Vegemite and cheese - this would be a good handover cure - good hit of Vitamin B (edit and fat :) )

  • +1

Was going to comment on the price but everything about this is so wrong I think price is the least of my concerns.

    • You’ll never grow stronger every single week with that attitude …

      • This pizza has no green vegetables or milk so it won't make me stronger either …

Just had a brainwave Domino's write this down. Stuffed veggie crust. Stuffed Vegemite crust. Perhaps even stuffed vegemite and veggie crust.

Here it is folks, raw and un-edited: https://i.imgur.com/uJQFUpK.jpg

Tastes as disgusting as it looks. This is coming from someone that froths vegemite and eats fried egg and vegemite toasted sandwiches.

    • +1

Wow nothing like the ads. Is your franchise bad or good usually?

      • Can't say for sure because this wasn't my local sorry.

    • +1

      That looks…

      Interesting.

    • fried egg and vegemite toasted sandwiches.

Is this just a fried egg between two bits of vegemite toast or do you do something more? Legitimately interested in this idea.

      • +1

Basically yes. Buttered Vegemite toast with messy semi-scrambled fried egg.

Crack a couple of eggs into the pan, break the yolk and mix it around very half-heartedly til it forms a nice "patty" of egg to fit on the bread.

I've never found another person that enjoys this combo.. if you like egg and you like Vegemite I can guarantee you'll love this.

        • +1

Just made this for breakfast, it's pretty brilliant. Just did two eggs with yolks broken and fried into a patty, slapped between two slices of Vegemite toast.

It almost tastes like you've chucked tomato sauce on the thing, perhaps because of the glutamate. With that in mind, I chucked some sauce on the last little bit (I only thought to do it by the time I was almost done demolishing the thing) and it does go well together. Next time I think I'll throw a bit of cheese on.

          • +1

@Diji: Awesome. I'm glad you actually tried it and got back to me about it.

I've tried it with a couple of different kinds of cheese before and wasn't a big fan but I'm not a cheese fanatic anyway so you may love it even more. Good luck foodie friend.

    • Looks like turds lay beneath 🤮🤮

  • +1

Australia’s Pizza House used to do a Vegemite Damper. Was pretty good and like $4-5 from memory, and tbh was a calzone with just mozzarella and Vegemite. 🤤

    Here’s a review from Grego

He gives it a 2 out of 10

  • +5

Sounds disgusting. I'm voting negative, even though it's against the rules.

    • -1

      Have my neg

      • Have my plus

  • +1

Way too salty in my opinion. Not worth the 7.95. Disappointing

  • +2

    …yeah nah mate.

  • Happy to have Vegemite, toast and butter, love that combo… Not sure how other people enjoy it, would be nice to try a pizza though, maybe needs more than just cheese, like sweet tomatoes/peppers and other veg.

  • vegemite base, sliced tomato, avocado, and cheese. That's a PIZZA!

  • +5

Sick weirdos! God will deal with you sooner or later!

  • +1

    yuckkkkkk

  • Domino's once sold a version of their cheesy garlic bread with Vegemite.. it was great. So now I buy the normal cheesy garlic bread and add my own Vegemite. Recommended.

  • +1

Just make melted cheese and vegemite toast. Tastes exactly the same for a fraction of the price.

  • +4

The vegemite on the cooked pizza is the exact same look and consistency as my nephew's first baby poop. Disgusting shiny green/black tar-like substance & it smells almost as bad. Don't go near this rubbish with a 40-foot pole.

Also, what's happening to the standard of this joint? How is this even able to be listed as a Bargain in the first place?

  • Is this permanent fixture?

  • +1

    how is this a pizza?

It's just a cheesy bread with Vegemite.

  • Ha ha that is dope Vegemite!! seriously??

  • Wow can't wait to not try this.

  • Pretty disappointed Dominos wont let you add add additional toppings to this. Was looking forward to adding Pineapple and some chilli flakes.

  • But where's the deal?

  • Not a good pizza. No deal.

  • Buy a 5$ pizza go to Coles or Woolworths, buy Perri Perri sauce on special, or what ever sauce u like on veg pizza, hand and cheese, BBQ ect and save money Domino's are making everyone fools.

  • Reminds me of a story my grandfarter used to tell me.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

Because there was vegimite pizza on the other side.

  • Don't know how to emphasize how this deal is.

A 4.95 cheese pizza with veggiemite, Domino's really thinks low of people.
