      is it any good?

Why did you upvote if you don't know the answer?

not bad for temporary solution but I ended up getting new pair of blades. Its not expensive anyway

  • How long do these last? Is the sanding strip replaceable?

Can you replace this with any piece of sanding paper or do you need to purchase a whole new item?

These are so useless. Won't shave all the way to the ends. Totally pointless if the blade has hardened. BTW wiping with isopropyl alcohol is a good trick too.

won't alcohol just dry them out even more?

      • won't alcohol just dry them out

        Try olive oil.

    • thanks

  • I know a guy who uses a couple of wine corks to lift up his blades while his car is parked to keep rubbish from accumulating, and it's free.

    • I have no idea how this is supposed to work, what if he's driving and it starts raining, does he stop to take the corks out? or does he put them on and off every time he gets in? Either way it's definitely not "free", since it comes with the cost of severe inconvenience

or does he put them on and off every time he gets in?

          Still a PITA

If he drinks enough wine, the car stays permanently parked… problem solved.

      wine corks?

None of my wines have cork.

  • I had a cheapy one of these, and it was ok, but after a while it doesn't do much. You could probably achieve the same result with a small folded bit of sandpaper that costs 5c, is easily replaceable, doesn't weigh anything in your car, and can go right to the edge of the blade. I also recommend afterwards you give them a wipe down with a wet rag to avoid black powder, and if you aren't washing your car regularly in the first place maybe at least keep your windscreen clean. Oh and boycott rubber blades for silicon.

All you need is a fine grit sand paper and give it a few good sand. They are cheap as chips at bunning.

    Green scour pad, Works perfect.

Isn't the trick to use WD-40 on a paper towel to remove all the grease and dirt?
