    • "I'm sure the voucher is to bring people back for pokies. I hate RSL clubs"

Yeah - damn those bastards for rewarding responsible customers with a free meal - no doubt as part of some sinister campaign just to ensure their staff aren't put out of work for another six months whilst thousands of people die from a virus which can be massively abated by injecting one tiny prick.

      Speaking of which…

  • +4

Here for the entertainment from the antivaxxers.

    • Plenty of them, it seems. Comment thread is heavily redacted at first glance.

      • +9

It is probably 1 or 2 people on multiple accounts. Remember, they literally make up 5% or less based on the COVID vaccination stats so far in Australia. They're pathetic lol

        • +4

Yeah, but they'll also say the stats are made up. Can't really use logic with em.

          • +4

            @raptormesh: Nothing surer.

It's just too humiliating for any of them to give in to science and reason, or admit the folly of being duped by some random Facebook kook with no medical knowledge or training, instead of listening to epidemiologists, virologists, doctors or the army of experts who actually understand how corona viruses actually work.

Or how big a needle you'd need to accommodate a 5G chip!

But please don't try and convince them otherwise. Darwin insists…

    • Only complaint here is that most of these offers are in nsw (am in qld) Wouldnt mind some perks —was fully vaxed months ago

  • +5

Is there like a sub forum or tag we can use for deals like this that are available for fully vaccinated people?

It would be handy to find them all easily and utilise them.

  • can I get $10 if I have 1 dose

and another $10 after the second

  • +1

    here for the creative comments

  • Can I use the voucher to take away? or must dine in?

    • Sure, just bring your own container right? True OzBargain style.

  • -4

Vax or Unvax , I don't really care.. but the amount of $$ that is spent on advertising about it to get Vaxx is F*d not a day goes by I don't see an advert promoting it whether it be to promote it, sell it, bribe it.. whatever.

    • +7

Given the average ICU stay of someone ventilated would reach upwards of 100 thousand dollars, not including the cost of chronic disease associated with time off work, carer requirements etc; plus when ICU's are overloaded, the closure of operating theatres, missed/under recognised other disease in the community/ED etc, a few million in advertising is miniscule compared to the public health savings.

      • -1

And how much is the Israeli health dept spending on double vaccinated admissions?

    • Nah you obviously care.

Ozbargain meet up at table 2164 for lunch or dinner tomorrow?

  • TABLE 2164

Is this some future dystopian themed restaurant? Sounds epic

  • -2

And its a boycott. Just because it pisses me off everytime the vax gets rammed down my neck. And im double jabbed.

    • Making stupid, selfish choices (I.e. being non-vaccinated) isn't a protected attribute.

  • +1

You know what, Australia will hit over 90% vaccinated, to the ones who genuinely don't want to get vaccinated, the anti-vaxxers, that is your choice, absolutely, I agree with you, don't get vaccinated, I think that's in the best interests of us all :)

    • Its not all about the vax its called freedom and choice

      • +5

You're free to choose, just like businesses are free to refuse you service.

      • +1

You do know vaccines have been mandatory for certain workplaces and overseas travel for decades? It's nothing new.
But the vaccine itself is not mandatory in Australia, hence why it'll never get to 100% because 5% or so of the population will make that choice and I have no issue with that.
If it is mandatory in your workplace, then you can find another job where it is not, that doesn't make it mandatory in Australia (there is a big difference).

Just keep in mind, the other 95 ish % of us also have the freedom and choice to only mingle with vaccinated people we work with for the health of our elderly family members, in particular, because we can still pass it on.
That's our choice and freedom of choice also, so you can have yours and the vaccinated can also have theirs.
As has also been said above, businesses also have the freedom to choose who they want in their workplaces and venues, that is their right, their freedom to make that choice, because it's not a one-way street here. Many workplaces won't make it mandatory also, and that is their choice.
So, what's the issue here? Do you want to convince people not to take the vaccine? That's not giving people freedom of choice.

        • I hope yous act the same with the flu shot and its not really a vaccine it doesn't provide full immunity more like the flu shot .personally I dont give 2 poos what you do its about not being told what to do that's all I care about

          • +1

@Jerrysberrys: It's "health advice" the Government isn't knocking on your door, holding you to the ground and giving you a vaccine. You have the choice not to take it, so don't and move on, simple.

        • -1

then you can find another job where it is not

Why should highly trained, vastly experienced aged care nurses and carers, many over 50+ years old and who excel in PPE, be forced to "change career" when the doctors and family visitors who every day come into close contact with the residents in the homes, don't have to be vaccinated?

          • +3

@alidli: I absolutely have to be vaccinated if I want to visit my parents in their aged care home. Covid AND flu.

          • @alidli: Both nurses AND visitors should be vaccinated when dealing with the elderly, they are at most risk of fatality.

            • @SimAus007: Of course, but the problem is the vaccine doesn't actually stop you catching and still spreading it, does it.

              • @alidli: Oh dear, please seek advice from medical experts.
The vaccine reduces your risk of catching it by more than 50%, the vaccine reduces the viral load if you do contract it, meaning you are far less likely to pass it on, the vaccine also reduces the time you'll have the virus and reduces your risk of hospitalisation by around 90%.
Take a look at the AMA site if you want facts.
Good god, I hope you are not a nurse with your misinformation spreading.

                • -1

                  @SimAus007: Very low info reply.
You are just repeating talking points that you heard on television.
Because all the research you did was just watching television.

              • -2

                @alidli: Sim oz07 is a total sheep

                • -2

@NoKabob4you: I was going to answer SimAus007 with information from the recent large scale University of Oxford study that has revealed protection is significantly eroded in the case of the Delta variant with all vaccines, and that 3 months after the second dose of Covishield, there was no difference in transmission of the Delta variant between vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals, but decided what's the point.

          • @alidli: I'd like to know why like bees to a honey pot people who aren't eligible for a massive $20 voucher come in ?

      • Freedom of choice doesn't mean freedom from consequences of those choices.
You've just never been free enough to realise that.

  • What are people getting with the $20?

  • so you don't have to be a member to get the $20?

Hopefully young boys arent lured in for free chicken tenders.

This isn't even a law and it's not even being policed.
Can you just imagine how stupid the vaccinated people are that got a vaccine without even knowing the ingredients.
I bet there are some really intelligent people taking up this offer.

    • +1

Super question - which begs the question, what were the "ingredients" of your last Polio or Diphtheria jab?

One thing's for sure - a whole lot less unintelligent vaccinated people are dying in hospitals compared to those rocket scientist anti-vaxxer types…

  • +1

    This is now expired.

At least that's what the receptionist told me, that they have given away 2500 vouchers and are no longer available.
