I wonder if Luke can do a little better?

    • Business 101, crossed the 3k barrier! πŸ˜‡

  • +11

Bull SH! Was $2998 regular price the other day πŸ–•

    • You mean the other one with the 3600 instead of the 5600x?

      • +21

No, the 5600x was $2998 the other day on techfast website without any coupons.

        • Ah that's pretty whack then

        • +1

is this not a reason to downvote this deal? I don't know because I didnt see the orig price.

        • Minecraft anyone?

  • +1

Price is showing as $3299 now.

    • +1

You need to use the code to apply the discount.

  • +6

Build it yourself and get better parts team

    • +5

The issue is being able to get parts

  • +3

400 dollars more than this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/657379 with identical parts, even though the 5600x is 400 dollars?? Lol techfast

    • +2

      Don't you mean $300? 3099 - 2799 = 300

      • +1

Yeah I just can't read thanks haha. Still feel like the difference is not 300 dollars however…

        • +1

You're probably right. $200 max. In this climate it's good to see some sales though (however small they may be)

  • +8

    Yeah seems fine however

Processor Cooling: 120mm All-In-One Liquid CPU Cooler
——- This will be ok very short term, not a fan of tiny AIOs, also a lack of branding is concerning, budget ~$100 for a good air cooler.

    Motherboard: AMD B550M [M-ATX] Motherboard
——- Again, lack of branding is concerning, as long as you get it in writing it isn't Biostar (and what the hell is actually is) should be fine.

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR Graphics Card
——- Lack of branding isn't as concerning, ask which models though, GPUs are a bit special right now.

Hard Disk Drive: 1TB Hard Disk Drive
——- Frustrating this can't be removed and swapped for an SSD (even in the configurator it is 1TB or 2TB HDD that's it).

Power Supply: 750W 80 Plus Gold Power Supply

——- Very, very concerning that the brand isn't listed, ask.

    • +1

Exactly my thoughts, especially with the power supply given they used to use Gigabyte ones :/

    • +2

The coped a bit of flak from the previous deal re: gigabyte PSU hence prob omitted
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/657120

      • +6

Yes they did from myself and others. But it's ok, as we know, silence is a great solution to being open, transparent and trustworthy, so I'm sure they are removing the brand name not because it's a Gigabyte PSU, but because it's a really high end model from Seasonic or Corsair and they don't want to spoil the surprise.

        • +2

I understand that GPU prices are exorbitant atm however for a $3K+ spend, I would expect more transparency.

          • +1

@vinni9284: I assume someone here is going to buy one and ask for the parts. Hopefully they CC the list ;)

            • @TogTogTogTog: Everything will be of the lowest specs IMO (apart from CPU)

              • +1

@vinni9284: This is what's so annoying ATM. Everyone who has GPU's to sell is packaging them into bundles.

The practice itself I don't agree with but I understand, even with the ever increasing prices.

I just wish if I dropped 3k on this I'd actually get a setup designed to work and not just a bunch of bulk parts they couldn't shift.

    • 120mm aio is fine.

    • +1

It does come with an SSD at least, 1TB mechanical HDD thou is odd, i think most would rather fore-go the 1TB Mechanical HDD and just put in a higher capacity SSD instead (say 1TB SSD like the A-Data A2000)

  • I wish they had some better looking cases.

  • Hi Guys may i ask simple question
I use wifi only so do i need to upgrade motherboard to wifi version which is 99$ more or not??
Or all i need is just buy the wifi adapter?
    Thanks alot

    • +1

Probably just get a wifi dongle, it's really had to say given they're completely blank on brands and models, but if the B550 with wifi really is worth $99 more then maybe, but probably it isn't so just get a basic USB wifi adapter.

  • Spend $3.1K and still pay for delivery :P

    • Delivery aint free

      • Yep. Would you expect it to be? How much freight for a 15Kg box?

        • +3

Not arguing it's a big item and costly to send, but if couriered via Sendle Pro (they use CouriersPlease in my area), 25kg is $23.86+GST nationwide. IMO it's plausible to absorb to reduce objections on a $3k+ purchase

      • Of course it should be if you spend heaps! Not saying I will buy it anyway because it’s made of unknown cheap parts

  • +2

For anyone considering this, I'd like to say two things:
1: My shipping and receiving experience with techfast was great. I purchased a 3070 build at a time when you couldn't physically buy one in Australia, at a reasonable price, and they communicated clearly with shipping and delivery.
2: This is not a deal. I had an upgrade on basically everything in this list (570x wifi MOBO, 1TB SSD, 32GB RAM, 850W power supply) except the GPU itself (3070, non-LHR), for under $2500 shipped, in March 2021.
    Prices will hopefully get better!

    • +5

except the GPU itself (3070, non-LHR)

That's the difference in price. This one is the 3080. The same branded card is $750 difference from 3070 to 3080. So if you add the $2500 + $750 = $3250. There's your $150 upgrade

      • Also March prices were ridiculous, but since then it's dialled up to ludicrous. Prices are now falling apparently, but when will now be now?

        • Need vs want. If you have a decent GPU, I'll wait tbh

    • +1

      january 3080 build $2.3k

      release 3080 build $2k

  • "Warning: Coupon is either invalid, expired or reached its usage limit!"

  • Is it a good deal or should i wait for the boxing day sale ?

    • having the same thought too. But in this covid climate, I wonder if it will make a difference.

      • There have been other deals with the same/better spec for less. Honestly if your desperate and really really need a PC of this spec then go for it. But honestly its kinda overkill and some of the parts i.e. Mobo, ram, psu, hdd, case, fans etc. won't be as good as building it yourself. If you have the time/patience it might be worth just scotuing individual deals, it looks like 3070, 3070 ti's and 3080 have a deal every 2 weeks or so. But react according to your needs and preferences, just my opinion and what I would do.
P.S. I highly doubt boxing day sales are going to be that good, the current climate is pretty trash for pc components, so maybe a good prebuilt deal? Not entirely sure and I can't predict the future lol.

  • -2

    $3100 for a 6 core PC rofl

  • See this all over my Facebook was hoping to not see it here too

    • Code not working now isnt it ?

  • Guys this is just the current shortage affecting prices now.

We can't expect same deals from Luke with all that is going on now.

This is a good deal imho but yeah it kind of stinks when you realise there was a 3080 Ti prebuilt cheaper than this but that is the current climate that we are going through now so.

    • It sucks, but that's the reality. Do we wait for price drops, or do we need it now? It's like new cars, you can't haggle a good deal, and you still have to wait 6-12m to get the damned thing!

      • +1

Personally I am still getting by with my pc rig and have no need to upgrade "famous last words" haha.

Truthfully I am trying to get out of gaming but "insert scarface al pacino quote here".

  • Is the code working now ?
