G’Day OzBargain, I wanted to thank the community again for all your support with our previous promo deal. A few of you were asking about the headband variation last time and we’re happy to say that AMD have given the okay to supply to retail customers, which means we can too.

HEADBAND T4H: https://www.australianp2mask.com.au/product/amd-nano-tech-p2…

This might be our last promo for a while so we’re extending it into the second week of November rather than ending it at the end of the month. We’re thrilled that NSW case numbers are much lower than last month but we’re still not out of the woods yet. Our hearts go out to our friends in Victoria, that are now the most locked down region in the world and we’re really hoping those case numbers stay under 2000.

As we’re opening up here in NSW, with kids going back to school and the rest of us slowly heading back in to the office (goodbye PJs til 3pm) we want everyone to stay as safe as they can be with the NANO-TECH nanofiber filters that provide 99.66% PFE and 99.92% BFE. It keeps you safe for up to 24 hours and is extremely comfortable and breathable.

Thanks again,

The guy that desperately wants to go back to the pub.

      you think anti-vaxxers where masks? lol

      they will definitely be optional, for everyone, because we have given up being rid of it… i'll personally be wearing a mask for a long time to come in situations i feel its needed… and i'm fully vaccinated…

  • You could sell for masks with deals like "5pc of AMD P2 Respirator Earloop Masks + 5pc of T4H Headband" $27.00 delivered?

    • +2

      I’m sure there are other websites/companies that’ll sell smaller packs but we don’t want to unnecessarily handle the masks more than we have to. We’d rather the end user know that the masks they’re purchasing (even though each mask is individually sealed) hasn’t been tampered with since leaving the factory. By offering smaller packs we’d have to create them ourselves as AMD do not sell packs smaller than 50 pieces.

    • Found some good quality Korean made KF94 masks (10 pack) $17.97 delivered in 1 day.

      It's a good option if you don't want to spend $100+ from this seller.

      • I purchased a box of 10 to test out from AussiePharmaDirect which arrived today.

        We'll be placing an order with AustralianP2 mask after running out, really happy with the quality.

  • Are you going to put paypal for payment?

    • Unfortunately not at this stage. We currently use Stripe as our payment gateway which works with our systems better. We don’t see user credit card info through Stripe if that makes you feel more comfortable. It’s all encrypted.

      • The only i concern the security aspect as i never hear stripe. With paypal, i can be more secure.

    I bought masks from this seller before. Actually, I am wearing one now while typing this. I also wear KN95 which offers similar level of protection. My 2 cents below:

    Positives:

    • good quality;
    • does not smell (like KN95);
    • covers face well, especially bottom half;
    • feels comfortable for long wearing;
    • comfortable when talking;
    • good quality elastic band, so repeated use not a problem (unlike KN95);

    Negatives:

    • as it was pointed out by Rocky, there is not a good seal at the top so they are not 100% air tight (KN95 is slightly better in this respect, but still not ideal);

    I would recommend it for office use (if you are required to have one) with low to medium chance of coming across anyone infected. This is actually what my colleagues and I do. So, I will buy again from these guys in the future. For a plane, hospital or shopping I would use KN95 (or higher).

  • $2.50 each at an official stockist with $7.50 delivery or free above $50.
    Just bought 20 masks.

      Or you could get 50 for just over $2 a mask with free shipping from us :)

      • Sorry I can only wear 20 at once :(

      • +1

        Sure but spending >$100 and finding out the masks suck is worse than spending $10 and finding that they suck (or that they are ok).

        If you offered sample deals with cheap-as-chips shipping I think that might be nice.

  • KN95's at bunnings for $0.39 each now. They used to be $5.00 each.

    Now that I’m vaxxed I’m invincible!

    But it’s a good mask for the mortals

    • 10% of Covid deaths in NSW were fully vaccinated patients. Not that invincible. Wear a mask.

      • Indeed. Vax reduces your odds of catching it and, also, reduces the severity. It doesn't make you immune.

  • +3

    These masks are glorified surgical masks. They will provide a slightly better seal. Doesn't matter how good a mask is, if it doesn't fit you it isn't protecting you.

    Not a single person would pass a fit test in these masks guaranteed, I've tested over 100 people and nobody managed to get a good enough seal to pass. Mostly wear these to prevent spreading what you have as opposed to stopping you breathing in harmful particles.

    (I am not affiliated with this store but it won't let me post without ticking the box)

    • +3

      hence why no mask like this will 'prevent' you getting COVID, it may reduce the chances but not eliminate the possibility

    • +1

      Any masks you suggest that will pass the fit test?

      • +2

        Probably the 3M aura 9320+ masks. They are rated by the health agencies as “very likely” to pass a fit test and are certified for use as PPE. Also very expensive because of it… Likely to pay $5+ a mask. What sets them apart is the little bit of foam that’s seperate from the mask it self across the nose/cheek bones as it is only connected at the top of the mask, so it kinda acts as a flexible strip when your talking preventing the seal breaking when your jaw moves. You’ll probably get funny looks wearing them as I think NSW Health is using a knock off of them branded as “trident” masks, but I’m not sure about those ones and what they are just seen them on social media.

        • +2

          If you’re concerned about having a mask that is most likely to pass a fit test I would recommend the AMD T4H, it also has the nose foam + headband design. We are currently supplying health professionals with that variant and that’s only after their own independent fit tests have certified their staff to use.

          • @AustralianP2Mask: I dont think that would pass a fit test either.

            If you want a mask that provides an adequate seal and provides proper protection go for industree trident, 3M 1860, 1870+, 9320A+ 9322A+. There are more but they have lower pass rates.

            The rest of these masks are junk. They may be fluid resistant or have great fibre protection but air always follows the path of least resistance and when you breathe in it will flow through all the gaps in your mask instead of the filter of the mask.

          • @AustralianP2Mask: I would love to see a single fit test certificate that the AMD T4H has passed.

      • Always look for masks with headband vs ear loops as they will provide a significantly better seal regardless.

    • +3

      Honestly, even if it does not seal, it will probably be less worse than a cloth or surgical mask.

    • Mostly wear these to prevent spreading what you have as opposed to stopping you breathing in harmful particles.

      That is their primary goal.

      Secondary is to /reduce/ the probability that you'll pick up Covid. Not eliminate it.

  • +1

    First rule of physics club. All air takes the path of least friction, always.
    Let's see how many anti-science negs we end up with, for the inconvenient truth.

  • Bought 100 of these and they're pretty awesome.
    Individually packed and real solid fit. I'd buy again.

    Having said that, I can only compare to generic blue ones which I bought when the pandemic started, might've been $80 for 100.

    • Thanks for the support! We love the product which is why we want to get it out to as many people as possible. Having tried a bunch of different masks at the start of the pandemic, there isn’t one that I’d go back to and we’re glad you like them!

  • bought one
    supporting aussie made mask & because OP has the time to reply genuine questions

    • Thank you for the support!

    • another $9ish for shipping. op includes free ship

  • I bought the AMD P2 earloop versions from op's last deal. I feel it is better constructed than the standard blue ones my fam buys (Chem warehouse), looks way better (hello, vanity), not as comfortable in terms of heat and moisture retention as my goto mask being a respro sportsta (has outlet vents so wouldn't protect people around me from.. me). More importantly, I am more inclined to voluntarily wear it and have been less likely to prod and adjust it after putting it on.

  • Thanks, wanted to buy an Aussie product that is legitimate. There’s so many misleading listings on Amazon etc.

  • +1

    I regret buying these masks. They're very expensive and it's very difficult to get a proper seal because of the poor flexibility of the metal strip. My partner has the exact same problem. Much cheaper and more effective to buy RespaGuard which is also Aussie made.

    Buyers beware,
    I double masked my CPU and GPU and the system still got infected.

    Most likely an older version incompatible with current gen hardware.

  • RockyK9 - I can't seem to find the original test reports on the TGA website for AMD masks anymore….. Strange…..has anyone else been able to find those original reports?

    https://www.tga.gov.au/testing-face-masks-and-respirators

  • Has anyone in Melb received their masks yet? I'm still waiting and haven't had much luck getting in touch with the AuP2Mask people, it says their number is unavailable when I try to call them and they don't respond to the contact us form on their website!

    • +1

      I got mine yesterday. The store posted them in a couple of days, but AusPost took almost 4 weeks to deliver them. How the hell are they gonna manage BF, Christmas, and Boxing day sales?

  • just made my 2nd order after 3 months

  • I'm pretty happy with them. I do wish they were a tad bigger for me personally though, as I have a bigger face.. lol

    • +1

      I believe that the proper scientific term for this is "a big head." ;)
