Highspeed transfers with up to 550MB/s read speeds

    That isn't a bad boy.

This is a real bad boy at 2800 MB/s https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/product/p…

That Samsung X5 Badboy seems to be x5 the price as well. But yeh.. that’s not a badboy, it’s a bad ass.

      • They take about the same time to transfer a pic

    • I want the X5 or i will buy a Thunderbolt enclosure and SSD separate.

This sandisk only has a 1050 Mbps read and 1000 Mbps write.

At this price, we're better off buying an ssd and chucking it in an enclosure!

"At this price, we're better off buying an ssd and chucking it in an enclosure!"

      Why?

I hope you were comparing cheese with cheese… Remember, these are NVME ssd drives, not your ordinary SSD drives so the price differential may tell you a different story.

I have the SanDisk 2TB Extreme PRO Portable SSD. This is a NVME drive that is a little faster, (up TO 2000 MB/s… peak, NOT continuous).

The SanDisk 2TB Extreme Portable SSD in the title is also as fast as my Samsung T7's. Same quoted speeds… UP TO 1,050 MB/s, and again peak speeds, but not continuous. Both brands have many merits, but are expensive. Personally, I love the little Sammies.

TIP. Always back up. I have no faith in the long term for any drive.

      • Couldn’t explain it any better. They are also shock and water proof. Perfect for travels.

        • Yep I remember playing with these enclosures at PAX a couple of years ago. They're pretty cool. The price hasn't really budged on them either.

      • You can purchase a thunderbolt 40gbs enclosure for $150 or less then buy your 2tb SSD nvme drive for 🤷‍♂️ 200?

  • That RRP seems artificially high

Agree.. Hence, the reference prices from Jb and officeworks.

  • You can also OfficeWorks price beat it for an extra 5% off

  • Looks like deal is over :(
