    I would be extremely cautious about getting a 4k display that is only 27" in size. I recommend stepping it up to at least 32". For the money spent on a 4k display, you might be better off using a better spec'd QHD display. Especially if you are going to be using this screen with a Mac.

        Sorry for the late reply, but pretty much all the Dell monitors are really great. I run the previous 4K model of this screen (S2721QS) and I end up running my Mac @ scaled resolution @ 3360x1890 (hold down option while pressing 'Scaled', and you will be able to select scaling options, without macOS's smooth scaling kicking in).

        For the QHD displays that I use at work, I use Dell Ultrasharps (U2722DE) and they are amazing. The S2721QS that I got is fine - and it looks AMAZING on Windows, but the scaling on macOS slows down Intel mac's, and running it without scaling means the display is too small to see anything.

        EDIT: Basically, if you are not a heavy CPU user, you might find that macOS's built in scaling is fine. If you have a 15" MacBook with a GPU, you will be fine, too. If you use anything else, and have scaling set up, you may find that the CPU usage of macOS goes through the roof (for me it added an ~ 15% CPU load while doing graphics work). If you want 4K native resolution, get a bigger display (> 32") so you don't need to scale on macOS.

        Also, note that you might find that the Apple A-series adapters are really blury and don't have a fantastic colour depth. If you see that issue, get a Dell DA310, and run the display with a DisplayPort cable. Note that the newer monitors (like S2722DC) use USB-C with (that has Alternate mode with DisplayPort 1.4), so you might not need an adapter for the DisplayPort.

Note that to drop the resolution without scaling you will need to select "Show low resolution modes".

    What are people thoughts on the Dell S2722DC? I have a Dell S2721DS right now and looking to get a second monitor or possible something to replace my current Dell monitor. Main advantages I'm seeing is that it has a USB-C port, disadvantage is that it doesn't have a DisplayPort (it says DisplayPort is integrated into the USB-C?). How important is that DisplayPort?

    Just curious why Inspiron 15 5510 had risen $200 after 2-3 months?

    It had always been selling for around $1,100 but now it's around $1,300. I thought older laptop prices would keep dropping as new models with new CPU/GPU are released.

    I hate Dell product naming so much.

    Why don't they just put the year on it instead of "Dell XPS 15" and "New Dell XPS 15", which on their eBay store is actually wrong. The XPS15 they have labelled as "new" is the older 10th gen i7 9500, while the "old" one is the newer 11th gen i7 9510.

      I wouldn't go for the Athlon version since that has 2 cores and 2 threads only, which can be quite a performance problem compared to the 4 cores and 8 threads of the Ryzen 3.

    Sorry if this is a dumb question, but i have a recent HP z-book and a 24inch monitor atm connected through a HP dock (black cube).
    Do these newer monitors allow you to just connect one cable from the laptop to the monitor that no only extends the screen realestate, but also powers the laptop (no ac cable into the laptop)? Im keen to get rid of the dock to free up some space and like the idea of the monitor powering the laptop and also having its own usb inputs.

      The posted 27” has power delivery up to 65w via usb-c. If your laptop charges at under that by usb c then yeah, it will work. Single cable (plus monitor power cable).

      My previous experience has been they've been within a couple of weeks generally, even with very long delivery estimates. That said YMMV, I had one where I ordered two monitors within minutes and they arrived a week apart.

    have any one got the s2722qc yet? what's the cable included? the cable came with my s2722qc is usb c type c gen 2, but it is only 1m long - too short compared to the cable came with s2722dc which is usb c gen 1 but 2m long.
    my s2722qc box was opened but i didn't notice it when it got delivered. not sure if the cable was swapped or not…
