  I confirmed with Cashrewards that any members who have Sony X are not eligible for cashback on all purchases even when there is no Sony X discount.

  Unfortunately that’s prevented me from buying the TV I got price matched.

    Thanks for checking. CR T&Cs is confusing, I thought the Sony X exclusion only applies to the people below:

    Sales made with exclusive discounts provided to employees, corporate and commercial partners of Sony Australia including, but not limited to, Sony X, Alpha Pro Support and Service Centres, are ineligible for cashback.

    Anyone from CR care to clarify?

      My question was, will I still get cashback with Sony X on my account while buying a price matched item with no discount.

      From the response from Cashrewards:
      “Response from Sony: Sony X community are excluded as they already receive a discount.

      If you are part of the Sony X community you will not be eligible for any additional cashback from Sony when using Cashrewards.”

        I think this CR person is confused with Sony TV model and Sony X Community
        You might want to rephrase your question to ask about Sony ——- (model number) TV, not Sony X.

          “I'm looking to purchase a tv from Sony.com.au with the current cashback offer. In the terms it says that discounts using Sony X are excluded. I'm a member of Sony X and I currently have a product in my cart that has been price matched from another site. There is no specific discount on the TV through Sony X at the moment, but I just want to confirm that my cashback will still track even with an active Sony X account.”

            @twombles62: I think this Sony X membership is different to the publicly available Sony account which never get exclusive discount on anything. I have that plain Sony account, and my previous cashbacks tracked and redeemed ok, except once which CR claimed Sony did not pay them so they cannot pay me, although it did get a confirmation email from CR…
            I suggest you register a plain Sony account for price match deal with CR/SB cashback.

        waiting for a good deal on cameras too, reckon Sony will have cashback offers soon same ones around this time last year or perhaps black friday deals?

          @bluuesman: I have no idea. I hope Sony CB is before black friday. I am leaving Australia soon and I was hoping to combine TRS, sony cashback, cashrewards/shopback cashback and price drop on A7III. Perhaps I am too demanding..

  FYI - I got SONY to price-match the Costco TV price two weeks ago - no problem, then they denied the Cashrewards validation for my cashback - " Sony says that the order was not valid or was cancelled/returned".

  Ive replied (politely) to Cashrewards, that the TV was indeed not cancelled and could they check again - pending review a number of days now (almost over a week).

  Sooooooo keep on it if you do.

  EDIT - I am a X member, but it had nothing to do with X that day….odd - wonder if they took the low road with this one too.

  I got Sony to price match a X90J 65" at $1979 which was a Costco special a couple months back. No issues there at all, matched instantly. I also claimed 8% CR which was approved and arrived in my account in less than a month which was a shock. All worked out really well, but it seems like it must depend on which rep is on the tools on the day…
