        Should be renamed to:

        CLIF Carb Bar

        The main ingredient is Rice Syrup

          Carbs = Energy

            @Fish and Grits:

            Carbs = Energy

            Not really, carbs are just one way to create energy…

              @jv: Yep well until Barnaby can work out a way to make coal edible I guess we're stuck with carbohydrate for now.

                Nope…

                • @jv: I could also read up on uranium if I wanted to.

                  It doesn't change the fact that carbohydrates are the main energy source of the human diet which this Clif bar provides.

                  Feel free to take your complaint to ACCC if you feel this is false advertising.

                    Your body can't make energy from uranium though…

                    Only from carbs, proteins and fats.

                  @jv: I guess a stick of butter could technically be called an energy bar if marketed towards people in ketosis lol
                  *Don't attack me I really don't understand the whole process I just thought it was funny ok :'(

            • @jv:

              create energy

              Not really.

        • Taste like rice syrup too - so damn sugary.
          Had a couple of these recently and they're far too sweet for my tastes.

          • +1

            @Qualbert: I don't mind the peanut butter one but I gotta agree they are pretty sweet and definitely more like a treat than any sort of health bar as they are marketed. $3 each is crazy.

            • +1

              @Clarky77: Sweet snack. Like confectionery, just a little bit better. Good for $1.50.

            • @Clarky77: Yeah no way I'd be paying $3 a bar when I can get a whole pack of decent museli bars for the same price.
              Admittedly these ones are filling, so $1.50 isn't too bad.

            • +2

              @Clarky77: They're not marketed as a health bar - they're marketed as an energy bar. For any form of endurance exercise these are a useful, packaged, calorie-dense form of energy. That's the market this is aimed at.

              • @raisinberry777: Why not just have a nip of Rice Syrup then… Cheaper and will absorb quicker into your blood…

                • +1

                  @jv: For similar reasons that you don't put all your daily food into a blender and consume it as a smoothie throughout the day: aesthetics, preferences, etc.

      Haha I love you always give critical contributions to any deal lol (well most and certainly many entraining ones)
      It's part of what's great about OzB ;p

        Honestly find JV's input annoying from a deal perspective - I see all the comments on a post and think there's some good discussion going on about the price or product… Nope, just some internet fool's inane thoughts.

        • just some internet fool's inane thoughts.

          a bit like your comment then….

          except yours has nothing to do with this deal, it's just a troll comment.

  • Amazon price matching if you don't mind buying 12. Save 10% with subscribe & save.

    • Huh, late to the party. I checked yesterday before I posted the deal and I was sure Amazon hadn't price matched. I'll update the post.

  • Time to stock up on some other flavours.
