  • Why should I buy this when I can spend $600 on a Weber Traveller?

I'd assumed your BMW X28 would have three BBQ's built in.

    • SIMPLE. $79 vs $600.

        Whoooosh

    • Looks gay

  • For a product claimed to be "Ultra-Portable", I would have thought a key specification would be the weight, but I can't find that anywhere on multiple sites with the same product.
Does anyone have one (or had one) and can estimate the weight?

    • The weight is fine, but the shape is pretty awkward if you plan on traveling with it. It is also cheaply constructed and a pain to clean. I threw away mine after 5 months and bought a Coleman EvenTemp which is better in every way and much more portable, so it gets a lot more use.

      • the coleman even temp is nearly three times this price though.
it's also not a barbeque, it's a stove, which is not quite the same thing.

        • I got mine unused on Marketplace for $130, but even at its normal sale price of $189 I think it is a better buy. It is a stove but also has a flat top grill which is much larger and gets hotter than the Gasmate. You can't bake things in the Gasmate like you can in a Weber. The only reason for the lid on the Gasmate is that it takes forever to cook without it, despite the fact that it uses more fuel than the EvenTemp. Case in point, cooking 2 packs of snags on the EvenTemp takes just over 10 minutes with the heat turned down low. On the Gasmate, maybe 20 minutes on high to cook them, and another 15 because you couldn't fit them all on at once.

I really can't think of anything the Gasmate can do that the EvenTemp doesn't do better.

My weber baby Q weights 10.75kg, so not a huge weight saving over this 9kg one.

  • Looks decent for the price. I miss my hibachi from the early 90's https://imgur.com/B24CEDY

This Jumbuck is available from eBay.

  • I bought this from Coles last year. Amazing BBQ for the price and the burner is strong. Very highly recommend this.

  • Does this come with the hose and regulator?

    • Yes it does for LPG.
